yer, its pretty crap really. Especially as loads of games have already been played. Hope people upload more than this tbh, as at the minute its a seriously poor show on the demo front.
I actually like Dahang and appreciate the demos, but I didn't find anything special in this demo. It was boring. Terrible chocking from fox. He just started running with his back turned to Dahang. All the games that I watched in stream, including Dahang’s were better than this.
Succeeding such a comeback, creates expectations to see something spectacular. The only spectacular that I saw, was the epic fail of fox. He made it so easy for his opponent.
yes, you're partly right, the comeback made it maybe more exciting than it actually was. But you might underestimate dahang's t7 game, he knows that map really well, makes it fun to watch I think.
On dm13 fox had no excuse of course. Quite a dissapointment =(
ql duel is about 25% of luck , in q3 just 10%.
random rail / rocket shots, 10 mins duel and few more factors.
for SPECTATORS ql is better, but for pro , its asspain!
obv not pure luck, but dahang came out winner in alot of the spots where he shouldn't have normally. And yeah I think fox was off his game for sure. gg tho, T7 was fun to watch, dahangs rush down towards the end was hot.
It was actually weird to watch. Have watched a few of his online games against other good players and he never once did the running away crap once. He's always been ploughiong forward, not running away :(
gg to dahang though, some impressive stuff nonetheless.
fox should have a dominant enough style that the opponent has to adopt to him not vice versa. (and by adopting I mean playing along and not outsmarting)
i was laughing at people hyping fox, placing him top 3 when he raped that noob draven... its the same story everytime with him, hes a typcal nerd, no heart, no creativity.. if he had it, he would be the best.
Rubbish.. he was only mediocre, like myself and I beat the guy, him 12 ping me 50 ping, beat him by 1 on dm4.. I played +back like a rat.. never saw him on the qw servers after that. Remember, talented but mediocre, a good player beats me by 30 or 40 on that map.
Aahh where would I be without proof, fortunately I have a demo of the trainwreck, but I warn you its pretty gruesome. I did hear of him beating a decent player or two, but I get the feeling they were being a little charitable or something. Honestly he was quite mediocre and I never saw the guy after this game. Want me to put it on challenge-tv?
You sound bitter, were you rooting for fox until the los vs. Dahang? I was, since I really like spectating him. I guess something got to his head, well, shit happens. I'm sure fox himself is most disappointed with his prerformance. I hope he can cope with these losses in a good way, maybe learn to prepare his mind more, learn a concentration technique or whatever helps.
Dahang isn't the only one who's owning it up with the plasma at this Quakecon. Must have something to do with lan ping.. I remember cypher vs stermy on t7 where stermy is stacked, drops down from upper level to the rg and cypher nearly kills him in a split second with the pg. Could really tell stermy was going WTF just happened
Really enjoyable style from Dahang. Don't remember watching a recent game with a player playing so offensively even with only 1 frag leads. He really caught fox off guard in some situations by not backing down and going after him instead. Dahangs rail is medicore at best though. Missed some very easy shots especially near the end on t7.
Fox played absolutely terrible. Some plays on dm13 were so bad they made me laugh.
I have to agree that it felt like Fox got overhyped because of one online tournament.
He is amazingly good, but has always lacked that something to be the best in 1v1, so why would he have it now?
I agree with the earlier mentioned lack of that something, maybe it is creativity, maybe just a lack of nerves, that prevents Fox from beating the very best player for player at tournaments.
He is not a Cooller or Cypher in 1v1, but is consistently dangerous for any of the top guys.
when he plays his best he's ridiculously good, but whenever things don't go his way he gets annoyed, and he changes his playstyle for him important matches.
I always cheer for him, even though I've learned from experience it usualy ends up like it did here. but I don't care since I think he is one of the most entertaining quake duelers playing right now, and he's been around since forever. (and he's skånsk)
Fox is definitely better than he's shown here. From the rumours, it seems he beats for example spartie most of the time while they were practicing for the event. Unfortunately, nerves or something keeps him from fully shine at events. Take Adderall next tournament.
