As soon as id offers premium service I'm sure there will be servers in russia, because they know that there is a big potential playerbase there.

They don't need anyone to advertise anything. They just need an ISP willing to host the servers. I can't imagine id being so stupid as to turn down a Russian ISP. Well, I can, actually.

Also, any engineer can tell you they lists like occur all the time in any project or research. And even while they sound quite convincing to anyone not involved in the actual project or research, can mostly be sorted by people who are involved.

I have written the reason before, why this most likely will and should(!) never be answered by an official side.
1. Just doing this would cost the tax payer loads of money.
2. Even if every answer to those questions was accepted upon by those people at ae911truth, they would not stop, which I doubt if only due to pride. They would make up new ones.
3. They would demand a review of those new questions as well as the old ones the feel weren't answered with even more fervor.
4. Any other who wants to know anything related to science (e.g. ufo fanatics) will demand that their findings are answered as well. If they aren't woprked they'll just take that as further truth.
5. Costs for the American taxpayer for all that work would reach many millions easily, and wouldn't solve a thing, because never in the history of manking have conspiracy theorists been proven wrong.



Also this document is quite interesting to analyze by itself. for eample they first claim it's 40.000 tons (p1) then 80.000 tons(p2) of structural steel. Good facts basis right there.
The rate statements of people under high stress situations who have (most likely) never heard a building collaspe as a reliable source.
Every flaw they find in the report (and yes of course there are flaws, nothing is perfect) gets neatly attributed to their theory, no other options seem to be considered. That is not scientific work.
They even quote their own contirbutors wrong by adding that dust was produced in midair (p3).


Imo, they are just a bunch of obsessed nerds trying to feel important by grasping at straws.

Well yes I've read it, but its not like we don't WANT a server there. Unfortunately petitions don't pay for servers, unless the petition signatures are from advertisers interested in expanding their advertising into that market region through IGA.

The two way servers pop up in regions are:

1.) Advertisers who use IGA begin advertising in a region to justify the opening of a server location or,

2.) An ISP in the region is willing to host a QUAKE LIVE server for free at their data center (although the system requirements for the system are fairly high as each machine has to host a larger number of game servers).

So now we have 400 signatures, but future doesn't look bright.

It seems that id Software cannot spend any money on establishing QL servers in Russia. And I understand this - every business should be profitable, otherwise it will be finished off very soon.

What I do not understand, is that the only option they can accept is finding some phylantropic ISP which will agree to host several dedicated QL servers for free for indefinite period of time. I cannot imagine this happening in Russia or Ukraine.

And when I tried to start conversation about more realistic approaches, I was ignored. Also, I know that I'm not the only person who tried to offer help to id, but id ignored them too.

Good riddance, id Software.

It happened in Argentina, a smaller country than Russia not only in size but quake history. I cant believe there isnt a fanatic quaker at one of the Russian ISPs. It truly saddens me that Russians cant play QL properly :(

We've got QL servers now in Iceland. It wasn't difficult, all we had to do was find an ISP willing to host and email ttimo. Russian quake players are obviously all without initiative, don't blame id. :)
