It's strange the way some Scandinavians use "funny" like that when they don't actually mean the thing they are describing is amusing.

That is one way it can be used, but based on the context of his post it seems more likely he means games which are fun.

it looks like he meant 'fun' but i may be mistaken.

The explanation to that here in Sweden (I know lots of people make that mistake in both spoken and written English over here) would be our own word for 'fun', which is 'rolig'. Now, if we want to say 'fun activities' we say 'roliga aktiviteter'. Notice the 'a' on the end? Well, that a makes people think that the English word should end with in a similar way, hence putting the 'ny' there since it is the only way we know how to bend 'fun'.

Germans make that mistake just as often and yeah we also at an "e" to lustig.
So you might be on to something.

"rolig" is indeed a funny word. the german "rollig" describes a cat in heat. :D

The Swedish word 'rolig' means calm in Norwegian, and their word for ice cream is 'glas' which means the same in Norwegian as in English, glass.

That's not true. Ice cream in Swedish is "glass", with two S's. =) "Glas" in Swedish means "glass" in English.
