It's official. MS mouses are hacks. Cypher is now using the "cypher edition" Death Adder. Not so unstoppable now, is he?
Rapha drops the MX518 and switches to the WMO after at least a few years of MX518 use.
I think I've made my point...

Not that it matters but it's interesting to see the difference between the way the two players hold it. Cypher curls his pointer and index fingers up in a "claw", and rapha kinda lays them flat all the way to the tip of the mouse.

I personally play with mine on 1000hz, just like most people, only because of the NVidia bug that causes q3/ql to stutter.

I've been playing on 1000 Hz for more than three years and on two different computers, I wasn't aware of any issues with setting USB to 1000 Hz.

it just may happen or not. I had troubles with my old PCs (like 2003-2005), USB port didnt work properly then with mice/keyboard/printer

500hz uses less cpu usage than 1000hz according to the logitech setpoint software.

what bug and what does it have to do with usb polling rate? my ie 3 runs at 500hz and it seems fine. i've been wary about going higher. think it'll be ok?

If my USB is at the default rate of 125 Hz, my Quake Live / Quake 3 stutters slightly, in spite of having stable 125 fps. I've got a gf 8800 and a core2duo processor, and it's a pretty known issue for that kind of hardware, probably due to a bug in the NVidia drivers. There has been some topics on this subject here on ESR.

I don't know about the 500/1000 Hz things very much. As I said, I've been playing on 1000 Hz for ages now and hadn't had any problems.
