I get fps drops too. It's fine at 125 fps then suddenly it drops to 50-60 fps for about 6 seconds and then goes back to 125fps. Never have any problems like this in q3.

Try priority saver. even though i never had fps drops, it made ql a little smoother for me.

*edit*: task manager -> processes -> firefox.exe (or whatever you're using) -> set priority "high" + "save priority"

my fps drop issues vanished! quakelive requires extreme gaming pc.

I have a Q6600, 2 GB RAM, and 3870 x2, you best be trollin.

looks like you're due for an upgrade. quakelive is a very demanding video game.
