found me a Sony CPD-G520 off craigslist for $40.

Sat barely unused by a 50 year old CAD engineer in some rich neighborhood. Works flawlessly. Only drawback is that it was manufactured in 2001 so probably only has a few more years left in it. Just about long enough for better flat panels to arrive to my liking and pricepoint.

Good crt's are out there you just have to look for them.

i would recommend either buying one of 120hz screens or getting some cheap CRT and saving up some money for the first option (it's worth it :)

Well, 2233rz is my first LCD so I cannot say much about playing on "normal" (average) LCD screen (of course I had to use LCD from time to time, school etc. but haven't played any fast paced games). I can only say that I tried to run WarSow in 60Hz (instead of 120Hz) and the difference was very noticable :P (it was kinda unplayable for me, but probably it's a matter of getting used to it)

i used to use a laptop for a while and i was fine with it. it's just this particular monitor i'm on that's unbelievably shitty. i could get by with a reasonably priced 75hz monitor with low input lag but i think the wise thing to do is save for the 120hz screens and just get a used CRT for q3.

i'd go with the new samsung or viewsonic in an instant if i had the money. they seem really good from what i read and hear.

Yeah, I would really go for a CRT even over one of the new 120hz LCD monitors, apparently it still has input lag, but I really don't know as I havent done much research into it and I've never tried one either.

Just get another CRT :)

You can get used to fpp games, but driving games are impossibility if you ask me. I just cant get corners right on LCD if I learned certain driving game on CRT.
