Event: IEM4

Yesterday the Qualifiers for the Intel Extreme Masters Quake Live American Championship were announced and today it is time to announce all eight invited players. The American Championship will feature 16 players in four groups. 8 of them have to win a qualification tournament, the other 8 are more lucky by get invited directly.

Invited Players

On Monday we will know which two players will be the next to join those eight in the American Championship. More information can be found on the Intel Extreme Masters website or on ESL America.

As far as I understand only qualifications are online, so I can hope Cypher will be invited directly to the European Championship with no need to play online with 100 ping?

anyway don't you think the ban decision was a little harsh (or is it a joke ?)
sometimes I tend to get nervous when playing too, I just called a guy nkm from england "names" because his aim was better and I was like ping 30 against his 90 ping lol, I won but it still pissed me off, especially the fact that he played kinda brainless, I was thinking bc he was underestimating me which made me feel offended

Well he actually lives in USA doesn't he? If you have your legal home in europe/usa or whatever you should be able to compete, if you're just travelling like stermy the same rules shouldn't apply.

Not necessarily, from my understanding he's now a US residence. Stermy might have a VISA (not sure if he needs one coming from Italy) but I don't think he's a US residence.

Because if you think of it that way, you could just live in Europe for when the Euro finals are and qualify for that too (Assuming those rules)

More or less, he doesn't need to have it as his first legal adress, but he has to prove that he'll plans to stay for at least the whole american part of the IEM, which he definitly will and afaik he will stay for a couple years, so it's no problem.

to clear it up. You need residence at the country for that you are competing for at least the period of time the whole tournament is handled and by playing for one country you can't participate for another country at a later time in the same tournament.

It's not even divided by continents, but by countries, because in some games and tournaments we have qualifiers in several countries where only locals can qualify.
