Just aim your pointer ingame at a certain point and do 360 horizontal turn, one time slow, one time fast. If your mouse moves the same distance, you got no accel :D

it takes 1 minute to ask my question in here.

it takes 1 hour to install win 7 to just test mouse accel. if its bad i have to reinstall xp and all my apps so thats 2 more hours. 3 hours spent instead of just asking a simple question. im not dumb.

you could simply do a dual boot, but okey

isnt that the cpl registry fix for xp?

it wasnt working in vista i know for sure. dont think it will work in win 7 either. but i could be wrong.

i'm not experiencing any mouse acceleration in vista (having turned it off in the menu)

I applied the patch to Win7 and it feels the same as when it's applied to XP. If it actually is the same... Who knows.

FYI, i would like to know this too - had a look around but cant find much info at the mo (will try what crack has put above)...

I did not edit anything in Windows 7 and I am VERY pleased with how the mouse feels. I am doing 360 tests constantly and always end up with one conclusion: "It's fine!"

depends on the game! has something to do with DX direct input or not... older games like UT or CS still need a fix i guess (guess its the same as vista)

Unfortunately, it does not work with windows 7.
This fix is just an "on the fly version" of anirs accelfix.exe. Its intention was to make a reboot needless.
According to this, it is still unclear if there will be another mousefix from anir (according to another thread, he suddenly left the razer.blueprint forums after deleting all his posts) or razer blueprints in general.

I use Win 7 since 5 months now and I can tell you, that there IS a difference on accel (with and without use of regfiles).
Apparently the reason for this is a new version of win32k.sys.

€: OK this did the trick (at least for me)

"It would not install for me neither on Vista x64 Ultimate, but I found out a way to make it happen :

1- Open your command prompt with Administrator privileges (right click on the CMD shortcut on start->accessories->Command Prompt, then click on Run as Administrator), then type
Bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

2- Restart

3- Once you are on the Test Signing mode (you will see Test Mode printed on all the four corners of your screen), open your Command Prompt with Administrator privileges again, then go to wherever you have your WCAFix unpacked like the example :
C:\Users\DeMS\Downloads\WCAFIX_20080209\

4- Then type : install

That worked for me and might work for you. If you need help navigating on Command Prompt, just ask, that's what us old timers on Pc's are for ... Or not :p"

i'm confused since you said there's a new version of win32k.sys

i've been on windows 7 x64 rtm for about a week and the accel curve is the same as xp and vista in the registry but it feels different.
i'm taking a break from mp games at the moment though so i haven't really bothered to try any of the accel fixes in 7.

Same here, (but I can be very sensitive when it comes to sens issues:)). This is most likely related to the win32k.sys and there is no real way around it by using regfixes or changing the mouseinput method to OS implementation (-1) directinput (1) or rawinput (2).
The only way to achieve real accelfix is to patch win32k.sys itself, because it handles video/keyboard and mouseinput as far as I' m concerned.

I heard this error is win7 related, but I m not quite sure. If you want be sure, just check enable enhanced pointer precision. If there is accel, the patch didn t apply.

It doesn't work. EPP turns on noticable acceleration. And the wcafix service is not in "non pnp drivers". It doesn't seem to even get installed.

You can tell it's not installed by entering the commands in install.cmd manually; you will get a popup that says "installation failed". And yes, I was in test mode too.

So how exactly is this supposed to work on windows 7 Ultimate? Or does it only work on pre retail builds?

I think this "cheesemfix" is the best option so far for windows 7.

When you disable "enhanced pyointer precision" it does give you 1:1 mouse movement but certain old games just re-enables this setting through SystemParametersInfo() function call.

Unless someone releases patches for these old games (i doubt it) we are stuck with these accelfixes.

yep, after the wcafix wouldn't work i tried the cheese fix and it works well

I've got no accel with setpoint set to control the sensitivity and accel, and using in_mouse 2.

ofc you wont have accel with in_mouse 2.. thats the whole point of raw input.. that's not what OP was asking

Using raw input I still had accel while speed and accel was implemented by the OS, so no...it didn't help at all. I tried a varity of things with raw input, but it wasn't until I let setpoint implement speed and accel it worked.

Turn UAE off on windows 7 + enable test signing = use aions win xp fix.

There's plenty of acceleration in windows 7. I tried CS 1.6 and the acceleration that was present was absolutely abysmal.

I wish someone would simply use the source code in Aion's wcafix and update it for proper windows 7 support (The ONLY way this works on windows 7 is if you're using an EXTREMELY butchered version of the OS with many things removed before installation). I mean, the source code is there---and I KNOW some of you are very programming savvy...why isn't anyone attempting to rewrite this? There's massive demand....

Are you sure it wasn't negative accel you saw in cs1.6

What mouse for high resolution? As in 1680x1050; I know my 3.0 works great at 800x600, but I won't be using that on my future Samsung 2233RZ. I tried an older model Diamondback but I didn't like it nearly as much. Small handed mid sens palm-gripper here.
