Yeah 800dpi is so standard. Fucking idiots.

The DPI was never my issue with it, (obviously, since I prefer 400/450dpi)
The best thing Razer could do for the D.A. is add the indentation on the right side that they put on the Mamba, to make it easier to lift, instead of sliding down out of your hand so easily.

edit: This - http://gadgets.manilaseo.com/wp-content/uploa...-mouse.jpg

This tiny difference would make a HUGE positive impact on the comfort factor, and probably finally truly rival the IE 3.0, in my opinion.

The other thing I would change is the disgusting plastic on the sides for something with a softer feel.

If they added those two changes to this new version it would be the perfect mouse for me.

Not much of an upgrade, that kind of dpi is useless for most gamers. If they had added profiles and onboard dpi switching in hardware, with 50 or 100 dpi steps available when setting up the profiles, I might have considered it. The reason I need the dpi switching is because of the retarded sensitivity setting system in a lot of new games with settings of 1,2,3 etc. when I need 1.5 or so.

The reason they re-released it is because of the dpi wars with the new laser mice. They want it to look somewhat competitive on the shelf. Most likely not targeted at old deathadder owners as the majority of gamers don't really need more than 1800 dpi anyways.

I like the braided cord atleast. I've had 2 MX518's rma'd because of the cord breaking.

I see nothing to complain about really. The price looks about the same as it was before or maybe only slightly higher.

How do you break the cord? It seems like one of the last things that would happen to my mouse.

IMO the only possible place the cord could've broken is the place where it connects with the mouse. I had a problem like that with my first copperhead, they've sent me a new one, it's ok now.

not gonna stop me from buying another one.

I didn't really break it, it breaks by itself because the cord is not firmly attatched either by design or quality control. Logitech knows this and thats why they replace 518's without question. I've had plenty of gamer friends have the same exact thing happen to them.

The real way to improve the DA would be to stop making it out of paper mache. I had to rma a DA after dropping it from the desk just once. Compare this to the G5 I used before that I must've dropped at least 5 times and it continued to work like nothing happened.

DA's sensor and shape are the reasons why people buy it. No need to change those things. The build quality is garbage tho. Durable and more responsive buttons, better coating (that doesnt wear off after a month), and a slightly thicker shell would've been nice improvements.

Shame that useless dpi numbers sell mice better than overall quality.

Razer mice are very fragile indeed, I had to rma mine DA just after a few months(mouse1 started to do double ckicking)
Compared to my old mx518, which lasted fo 2.5 yrs I have to say logitech>razer
think I am gonna buy an IE 3.0 :)

The DeathAdder is too heavy... and they haven't fixed that with this update. Strange, I thought everyone knew by now that DPI is bullshit?

So the only thing that is new is the sensor and everything else is the same? Looks like Razer is after that quick flood of cash because... they need it... They don't strike me as being a very intelligently managed company.

You should've seen them in the days of 2001 when they wouldn't honor refunds on broken Boomslangs which were a dime a dozen.

In what way?

I tried one a while ago and returned it, but don't recall not liking the buttons.

Been thinking about giving it another chance if the Xai fails to impress.

I'd buy it because my right mouse button is fucked up and, aside from that, it's awesome so I have no reason to find a different kind of mouse.

Too much travel, not enough re bounce speed, low tension to click.... Overall slow buttons...
