I think she's doing a good job on international stage where a lot of things have to be fixed more or less before we can fix them on national level (finance system regulations, taxes and such shit). Imo this will be the key topic for sustainable development all over the world in the long run, but yeah she's not very present inside the country in return and some of her minister's are just going crazy. :/

But please list something that she all has fixed. So far, all I see is talking no action. If there is any action it mostly comes from others. The only things she does imo is giving ideas and moderating, not acting by herself. And her branch is called the "executive" for a reason...

So, if some of the proposals you mentioned were realized this might work. But now she even has liberals on her side, possibly in the finance or economics department. I don't see them going along with the needed, harsh regulations for banks. And Merkel is not the type to force it, like for example Schmidt, Kohl or Schröder would have.

It is still to be seen how much all the talking will actually do, lets see what e.g. copenhagen will bring in terms of contracts and regulations. I wouldn't mind either if she'd step up a bit at times the way Steinbrück did when it came to tax havens, too. I trust her to sort things out more than Mr. oh-my-rhetoric-is-so-awesome-yet-I-say-nothing-all-day-long-and-did-jack-shit-as-minister-of-foreign-affairs-anyway Steinmeier. The mayor in Berlin was from the CDU, Diepgen afair, with the Berlin nearly went broke.
Then because of that people voted SPD and PDS with Wowi as mayor.
Then both he was popular and his government fixed the finances, impossible to say how much of it was his doing though.
