IIRC the IMO didnt do too well on that button latency test done by some Jap site a while ago. It did slightly better than the IME but that is still pretty laggy compared to some of the other mice that were on there. The WMO wasnt on the list of mice tested so it's hard to say how it compares.

In my experience the WMO buttons actually feel more responsive than my DA (which did well on the test). The WMO at 500hz is just a ridiculously good mouse if you dont use very low sens (or side buttons obv). The only thing I absolutely hate about it is the unnecessarily thick cord, which when combined with the light weight mouse ends up pushing it around when you release your grip.

it says 3.0 has 16.7ms delay, which is more or less average. They didnt test it on 500hz though and it should lower (donīt know if its 6ms lower because its 125hz to 500hz, so i will not make a wild guess). But as i said, that has no effect really. Also remember that it shares the same sensor with ime and wmo. I havent tried a ime1.1 since lots of years so i dont remember how its buttons are (mouse1 and 2), but maybe they are the same of wmo.


oh i forgot about negative accel, but its the same of 3.0. Thing is you should use 500hz (or more), and you shouldnt use more than 40cm/360 sens aprox (ridiculously low).

about thick cord, wmo has a way less thicker cord than 3.0. With my 3.0 that was kind of an issue with my qck heavy. The solution has been available since the beginning of computer mice and almost every gaming pro uses it: masking tape (or mouse bungees and stuff if you want to waste money, or even a bible)

I use the edge of a speaker to hold the excess cord, but the remaining piece is still springy enough to move the mouse around. It feels like you constantly have to fight the cord. This was an issue for me since I switched from heavy mice with thin cords (DA, G5) but shouldn't be as big an issue for him because he's used to the IMO.

in reaction time tests, the 3.0 is 10-20ms slower on than the ikari optical mx510-mx518 and the DeathAdder.

3.0 = 16.7ms. I just realized it was measured at 666hz. Also a quote from that page (google translation):

ikari opt = 4.3ms, at 1000hz (its on the steelseries section, not in razerīs)

so, mouse response its not 100-ish ms as you said. Its around 10-20 total, and the differences are at most 12.4ms between these mices which is nothing really...1/100 of a second

IF you could correctly read or fucking understand language at all then you would have noticed that i said my avg with the mice were about 15-25 ms differences.

Also that link was prolly done with mechanical allowing for quickest possible recorded times. So, there would be greater deviation using a human finger.

I have both and i find wmo is far better for fast paced games. This means all fps except cs, in which 3.0 is better (wmo is not awful for that. For example lots of players use ime1.1 which has similar shape and has side buttons). Wmo will also serve you well for office use (its very common actually) and for any use (rts games if you want to), but of course is a matter of personal preference.

wmo has the same sensor (put it on 500hz and it rocks. 400dpi[nobody needs more than that]), different shape (smaller and not ergonomic [great for left handed]). It also has plain sides which makes it easier to grab than a ime1.1) and does not have side buttons. Also 3.0 weighs a lot more, ,the feet are different (3.0 are awesome, wmo has just plastic feet but they are ok) and 3.0 cord is thicker (which can get in the way if you use a "tall" mousepad like qck heavy). Wmo also is way cheaper and easier to find in stores (replacement factor), for example that being the main reason why asians use dt-35 keyboard rather than other clicky ones that are a bit better but a lot more expensive and hard to get (which is key since some of them remove some keys to avoid them getting in the way).

you should not consider buying a new mouse due to input lag. The difference between almost any mouse will be at max. 10ms which is not noticeable, and in this particular case the difference will be 0 because they use they share hardware. About buttons, the wmo ones feel "cheaper" than 3.0s. The idea is that you should not change from 3.0 to any mouse because of that reason. Btw 3.0s mouse1 and mouse2 buttons are not hard to press in comparison to other mouses, or maybe just a little bit (no effect whatsoever)

my personal experience: i used a mx510 from 2004 to 2008. Wmo is way better and it was a great change because of shape and weight (and long time ago i removed the extra weight from mx510). 3.0 is not that great because it weighs a lot and its too big for regular use.
Few qlive players use 3.0 (one example being stermy, and an old example would be fatality). On the other hand, lots of qlive players use the wmo (rapha [who for quakecon2009 changed from mx518 to wmo and won it, and also won gamescon with it a month after], cypher [won lots of tournaments using it, and actually started to "loss" when he had to use his deathadder edition), etc....the top tier if you like gotfrag-like arguments)

on the other hand, a friend of mine changed from a 3.0 (when it died) to habu (somewhat similar to wmo). He could not get used to it and switched back again to 3.0. It depends a lot on your grip. Quality wise, wmo its not that great but 3.0 is not far better (3.0 buttons are better too).
I think 3.0 should last longer, but it dies certainly and its due to sensor issues after lots of years. A wmo dies for 1. broken/bad cable (3.0 is better. It can be easily fixed though), 2. broken middle button (if the plastic is broken, you should buy a new mouse really and not try to fix because its a cheap mouse) and 3. sensor (same sensor than 3.0. Donīt be fooled by over 9000fps publicity of the new 3.0, it doesn't have an actual impact).

So, in the end i think you should try wmo in any place (as i said its common in offices but not in gaming due that cs players like shiny mouses and the good ones like 3.0 and mx518) or store. Or you could buy a oem one, so its cheaper and if you dont like it you could give it to anyone and it will be appreciated because itīs a reliable mouse (as i did with my mx510 btw).
edit: i remembered once i went to a bestbuy and they sold only razer and logitech mouse for gaming (having them also out of the box to try out.), and they did not have specifically 3.0, wmo or 1.1 for gaming or office use. The thing is that all the computers they had for their workers (checking prices and stuff) had a wmo lol, itīs a good example of it being used for non-gaming stuff.

Thank you for the long post, although I probably knew most of that already :P I actually used a WMO in my old office a couple of years back so I know how it feels, and I already know the sensor feels the same.

From what I have read from you is that there is no difference to button lag between the WMO and the MS3 so it doesn't matter which one I am playing with. In that case I will just stick with the one that I am used to :)

the fact that some of the best players do not use it doesn't mean anything? maybe they just sticked with the mouse they're used to and were disallowed to change the usb hz via an 'external' program (requiring a reboot).

For all practical purposes, I think the response advantage is negligible in real-world results. I've played ok 1khz Copperhead and on a 125hz WMO and can't really feel much of a difference.

once you been playing with 250/500 going back to 125 is like watching a 15 fps movie.

many of the issues have to do with defects though.

supposedly there is an issue with the mousefeet being too high, causing the sensor to perform badly. theres also some with broken wires that cause it to turn on and off.
