Just started playing it last night. It's pretty fun thus far, just got to lvl. 6 berserker.

On a side note, I discovered ambient occlusion was raping my 512MB cards. I went from running everything at max @ 1680x1050 with 40fps standing still to maxed fps (62) with it off. Just a suggestion for anyone running into performance issues.

How do you change the sensitivity without using the slider? The slider is absolutely retarded as the second lowest setting is 14cm/360 and the lowest is 40cm/360 with nothing inbetween.

MouseSensitivity=20.0 in WillowInput.ini you'd think does the trick but it changes absolutely nothing as far as I can tell. Changing the slider in game doesn't even alter this value (or anything else in the .ini-files). The only file it changes is player.wsg but that file isn't readable in text format as the text is filled with "If[ÀÅ’=÷¢}oF†‰aŠƒí&…

Save the player.wsg somewhere else, go in game, change the slider, and compare the files. It might be as easy as that.

I tried it, unfortunately it didn't make me much wiser.

On the steam forums, they say that you should change bEnableMouseSmoothing to false in the willowinput.ini, and that should help a lot.

Will see if it makes a difference. I don't mind the "feel" of the mouse, it's just that I use the same sensitivity for everything, in every game, in windows, in Starcraft and so on. So having to be forced to either play with 14cm/360 or 40cm/360 isn't even close :(

However, changing the mouse setting may make it so one of the sliders actually end up close to the right spot (or that mousesensitivity works). So thank you :)

Someone said that it was the value for accel, so it could be what is making it so crazy. =P

Turning off mouse smooth helped a bit, but I can't get rid of accel.

Check out some UT3 sites for both to be honest, I'm assuming UT3 has a command to change sensitivity and fov, if so, just bind them to a key following the examples in WillowInput.ini

In sp I only have to use that once, and when I sprint it does the fov multiplier. But in coop every time I sprint it resets. :(

Aye, I came up with a dirty fix for that though.

I added a fov bind to the walk forward key

I saw that on another forum and its pretty annoying to keep switching fov, especially when driving.

It doesn't switch as long as you hold the forward key down, so I found it to work fairly well even while driving.

The switching of fovs doesn't affect anything other than driving and if you really want to you can bind the drive forward to a different key altogether.

What is the default fov set to anywho? Something like 80 or 85? It's retarded narrow that's for sure.

Is this a visual change to an actual gameplay change? because you get "Backpack SDUs" in the game to increase backpack size.

Not that I'm shouting "CHEATER" or anything but for now since I'm playing it online I'll stick to the game mechanics.

It's a "cheat" but since I don't play online it doesn't matter, just feels as a hassle to have to switch out gear all the time due to a small backpack.

Anyone else having issues playing QL after installing Borderlands? Can't seem to run the damn game at all.

Just started it up a bit. Playing as a sniper and killed some bandits and stuff.

same here, except I got a bit further I think.
In the mission for the mine key, some "Badass Psycho Blade" (or whatever) melee guy sure gave me a hard time.
So I guess when doing single player taking sniper may not be the wisest choice.

you can use any weapon just fine, like SMG and start using that, accuracy bonuses etc still apply. I do sniper, SMG and revolver.

Yeah, I did uses smg and revolver (got 4 different ones at the entrance)

Maybe the problem was that some were lvl13 so I couldn't use them or they jsut sucked :/

Ended up throwing two grenades on the floor next to him, me and and some normal bandit, so I got revived through second wind :P

what is good about that game ? what I've seen so far in videos is a generic shooter with the usual suicidal AI in repetitive maroon land ; and grinding is part of cons to me

never played diablo ; hack n' slash isn't appealing to me, although I'll certainly try D3

There are indoor missions after some time, and the AI is not too bad imo. There are also some "funny" aspects, like little guys falling on their back everytime they shoot their shotty.
Then you have the "normal" rpg mechanic that some areas are above your level, so if you are looking for a bigger challenge you can do that, usually have to aim for critical hits to do it (at least as a sniper).
Driving around is also fun for a short time now and then.
Of course, playing coop with friends should make it more enjoyable (haven't tried that yet, have no friends with good pcs, etc :P )

But I guess in the end it boils down to this: Are you the type of player that can get hooked on leveling up and finding new gear`. If yes it probably is a game for you, if not then you will probably not enjoy it as much as others.

In any case you should give it a try.

Made it to lvl.11 berserker last night. Running up and punching the shit out of things is hilarious. Need to find a not so shitty shotty though and a rocket launcher would be nice as well.

yeah played it for a couple of hours monday and then had a 6 hour stint with nekon, fluff and minky last night. so my original charater is a lvl 5 soldier but started with a sniper last night and got it to lvl 20 in the 6 hours. pretty cool as you get higher, bigger more open world, and start to get some really awesome weapons. plus some BIG enemies.

dont think im going to play it too much single player probably just go back and complete smaller quests weve missed. the co-op is alot of fun.
dunno how much content there is but so far i love it!

The game was far too easy though and I've found no way to change the difficulty. Playing it with 4 people didn't make it any more difficult, neither did playing it at the second playthrough =\

Really depends on your drops. I'm level 42 about half-way through second playthrough, and I've still got an amazing level 13 shock shotgun from way earlier in the game. Is there a 3rd playthrough, or is 2nd it?

There're only two playthroughs.

I wish there was a working way to make the normal game (or 2 player coop) as if it was 4 players in the game.

Too many giant vagina bosses, I mean the last boss did have some dicks but with +8 team health regen and a sniper that was doing 6k crits it took about 20 seconds to wipe it out :/

Not me. I work 40 hours a week, commute 2 hrs a day at least, have college 2 nights a week @ 4 hrs a session, and do certification studying on top of all that. Plus I workout around 45mins a day, 5 days a week.

So za game, the good and the bad, or let's skip the good and use the site for what's really important:
-rpg part -a fps with some rpg elements, not that valuable as system shock 2 or deus ex, containing some rpg element ONLY -not too much of a justice for its A target: on the rpg scale from 1 to 10 I give it a 3.5
-fps part -weak AI -not the worst in the business, but not the best either, shooting part is kinda simple, making the game acessible to everyone, not that I called it an elevated game for this, movement is nothing out of the ordinary, compared to painkiller and serious sam the hordes are kinda small: give it a 5 here
-graphics -eyecandy is prety nice but nothing spectacular, I don't understand why despite the extra effort of graphic cards companies into selling their hw because new technologies, game creators choose Unreal engine over crysis engine, which is pretty much above -the fact that most programmers are used with ue and ut scripts is not an excuse, if you work in the business do yourself a favour and learn new engines -I would have opted for non-cartoon graphics look: 4 to the graphics
-general artistic impression -not very great architecture or other great artistic feelings, regarding words, sounds, images, forms, suggestions, symbolisms and stuff like that: 3
-exploration: despite the kinda big number of maps, the variety is not that great: 8 for the work
-level of detail: models are not extremely well done, but the rest is ok: 7
-humour -sometimes do its job: 7
-general view on the whole game, after a few hours it's very repetitive, no fear on what's gonna happen -consider old re and alone in the dark series for a counter example, regarding the feeling, not other aspects -the story is half good and after you've played it you don't remain with too much of it in your memory, general note: 7

edit: I should have write a bit more on the exploatation of the new technologies instead just saying about graphics, and mention how physX is either missing or isn't doing its job at its full potential at all, note is the same as to the graphics, though
