GGL North America Ladders (37 comments)

The GGL is proud to announce the launching of 4 new ladders, all sanctioned by the Association of Gaming Professionals.
The ladders are in Duel, CTF, Clan Arena, and Team Deathmatch. Please register and join the Quake Live competition!

Duel

TDM

CTF

Clan Arena

AGP Ranking points will be awarded at the end of each month for the regional and international rankings. The ladders will be reset at month's end to restart and continue

Below are the monthly point distribution for each:

1st-8th - 5 points
9th-16th - 3 points
17th-32nd - 1 point

Go to the official AGP site for further details. Note that as everything is working together in the AGP Rankings, the ladders will help lower skilled players more in rankings than higher skilled but that is their point. The higher skilled should utilize these extra points for better seedings in tournaments but they are not a must. Team modes are currently being worked to establish international and regional rankings as well. This will take more time and cooperation. QL duels are extremely boring. That Cypher vs Rapha made me fall asleep. 4-0 lead and run away rest of the map, really fun gais this game is going places to mainstream!

xfoo, yes but the ladders work fine. We have provided links, not much more you need to know but we are always available to help.

ted, the Hip Hop Gaming League was a Tournament with LAN finals in Hollywood. I attended the LAN and saw Snoop smoking the weed. There were a lot of rappers there and a few porn stars entertaining them. I have pics from the event at my CHTV gallery.

mefajpE^ let me refresh your memory, GGL stood for Global Gaming League, we have since dropped the League and are now called Global Gaming. fws, the above response should help you also.

butcher_kgp We have never had a QuakeLive League. We have however organized and maintained a multitude of Quakelive tournaments consisting of Ladders and Brackets but never a league system. Bo and Alien are currently accepting registration for a League.

We will continue to run Tournaments for Quakelive as long as people show interest and continue to join the tournaments.

I hope this clears up any confusion you guys have. :()

Really good question and that all depends on the players. They will decide and vote on that. Duel legislation starts this week. It already has begun actually with if Gamescon should be part of the AGP Rankings. We also have started the beginning stages of representative electing.

Next week we will start ctf legislation perhaps and then the other modes following. We have some announcements on that first however and our updated Rankings sheets needs to be done. Updated in look and usability that is, so they cover everything in one page, as you will see. ;)

Do you even know what the AGP is besides a bitch fest for the likes of you? In only a couple months we have over 500 members already. Deal with it man. It's a players association and it is going nowhere but up;). GGL offers ladders for the community. Sure it isn't a HUGE LAN EVENT for $3,000, but it still helps the game, helps the community, and gives competitive incentive.

You aren't a member of the AGP so why hate on something we set up for the players to be organized and united? You can be part of the decision making process if you want but you have to join. Not just remain a douche online. Do something for once. Don't hate on others that try and do.

Would a $30k LAN shut you up? I'm aware we have been all talk. We are trying to beat the recession and sponsor freeze. We are, however, launching everything we had intended from day 1 EXCEPT big LAN tournaments. The association is launched, the rankings are going and will be updated in a week or 2, and I'm still putting up classic matches. If I knew you guys would have been SOOO happy with a $7k LAN, we would have had one last year and this. Apologies for attempting for bigger in terms of prize money. Even $14k seems too small to what we have been attempting.

i might seem very anti, its more that nowadays in the 'e-scene' its so much talk and promisses and no actions that makes it kinda tiring.

i'd love to see money thrown into the gaming community even though it won't touch me at all, i, as a spectator, would just be glad to see it grow

and not only nowadays..after so many years of watching various "professional" teams and organisations rise and quickly fall, im quite skeptical and mostly laugh at those attempts as well.. (e-sports in cz were especially hilarious while i was still keeping up with the 'scene' at least a little bit)

but as you say, if it actually works, more power to them.. esl now seems to be on the right track ql wise

This seems like bullshit to me, obviously the quake community would be happy with any amount of money lan...look at what dubai produced. He's the one that brought it up, not me. Its like he is wanting to promote AGP by talking shit about dubai when he hasn't presented a single tournament himself. Self-righteous imo

You are always right Dird. It should be called the Association of Dird. Keep the hate up. Must make you feel better. That's what you do and it's expected.

BTW GGL owns Clanbase. So, since you are a Clanbase admin, you might want to calm your own hypocrisy.

And until you understand the approval process of the AGP sanctioned competitions, I'd shut it before you sound any more like a douche to those that are AGP members. The members of the AGP had the vote to keep the onliners or not. www.agptour.com is nothing like esr and doesn't attempt to be. It is a players association website. It's not complicated, Dird. But we do ask for your approval before doing anything else.
