Most competitive matches in Quake Live are boring. Honestly, boring play is what wins. You don't get "style points" in Quake Live.

If you want exciting 1 on 1 matches, I'm afraid a new game needs to be created.

The whole game is "played out" and offers nothing in terms of creative gameplay.
