I have 2 cloth pads and it doesn't glide nearly as well as a WMO w hyperglides. the main reason for not buying this mouse tho would be positive accel. since I've already bought it I'll try to get used to it for another week or so. If that doesn't work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1olVVhFhs2g
well i have the kinzu and i think they use the same feet as the xai
and personally i thinks their it way to much fiction on the QcK+
compared to my WMO.
it's not just linear accel a la cl_mouseaccel in quake(which is prolly the only game where accel is usable for some players). It's an awful acceleration curve (http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1795986#pid1795986), hf getting used to it and getting mouse feeling, especially those who additionally also use cl_mouseaccel in quake, will get a trash double accel superposition.
5700 dpi vs 5001 dpi
165 vs 150+ dpi
12,0 mpix/s vs 10,8 mpix/s
unspecified vs 12,000 fps
not that the difference really matters as the dpi are overkill already and both sensors should be skipping-proof. however i see people complaining about the xai skipping in the newest posts of this thread, while i couldn't find any similar comments regarding the g9x, here or anywhere else:
sure. i've read somewhere that logitech has the exclusive rights for the slightly improved avago 9500. hence the difference in specs, although the mice use the same sensor.
I have the xai and a Qck heavy and it has not skipped once since i got it pretty much on release. The large feet do give more friction than most other mice but on cloth pads it is not that much, and to be honest the slight friction is one of the reasons i use cloth pads... it stilll travels accross the mat consistently and does not cause it to snag or jump. Anybody having bad skipping problems most likely has dust getting into the sensor or just a dodgy sensor. I do hope they fix the slight pos accel but it doesn't seem to effect my game. I still think this is the best mouse I have used and I have owned many, i can't compare it to the G9x though as I have not used one.
Been using Xai with QCK and the glide is fine. If you really want it REALLY smooth, get one of the Steelseries dot's. That stuff makes the mouse glide like nothing I've played on :P
