BFH was a brand new developed game though, so perhaps they are trying to recoup costs a bit quicker, or they thought "if people are spending $20 on a fucking hat they'd spend way more on weapons!!".
i think the fact that they dont have any ads ingame yet and that they have decided to start charging for 'premium accounts' or whatever they are called is an indication that QL is not very healthy financially.
The problem now if id decide that they the losses they are taking on the game are getting too big, they can just pull the plug on the whole thing. Doubt that will happen anytime soon, but if they still cant sell the ad space and a mass of people dont buy premium accounts, it will be sooner rather than later.
doesnt really make sense, why would they still support events like dreamhack then? and i dont think they will call it a day before they tried out prem or other ways to get money
Well, I think they consider it as failed, but it's still their "pet" project as it were, and Q3 was always a few of the id teams personal game kinda thing.
If they just dropped support for QL too it would have massive ramifications I reckon.
