Ok so here another quake live config thread but this one is diffrent because its to help ME..

i wanna play QL but why doesnt it remember my config if i tweak it, now i only play with the default config and i dont like it.

so for example i wanna play with fox his config because i cant be arsed to tweak my own....... HOW? i tried some things i found on si internetz but then the graphics dont change. why 2 configs? qlconfig and repconfig..?

plz help me out so i can enjoy a game of quake once again..!!

/writeconfig vinkieee

or replace vinkiee with anything you like and then /exec it.

/writeconfig qzconfig will overwrite the default cfg and make ql exec that at start.

i dont wanna exec my config every time i wanna play, just want it like q3 start up the game join a server and go.

if rename my config to qzconfig and join a game it wont load up and i get the default config..

just put the fox config in the folder with your other configs, then ingame you /exec fox.cfg

then you /vid_restart and you've got it. should be saved automatically

You make an autoexec.cfg file
and, you put: "exec fox.cfg" init. (without quotes)

At each game launch it execs first the autoexec.cfg

Whats wrong with my comments.

I have been overwriting the default q3config.cfg for years now and it always worked. I am aware that autoexec.cfg will also solve the problem though.

ok thanks for the replies, i used dahang config for my basis but now a new problem occured, it looks like its zoomed in all the time. i wanna see my gun. i did drawgun 1 but no succes i removed all zoom scripts out of the config (i think) i did -zoom.

anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
