Use a ruler and a paint program for the DPI. (win sens 6/11 no acc)

this mouse keeps looking straight up (or down) and spinning whenever I'm doing fast movements sometimes. Is there something besides getting a new mouse I can do to prevent this?

most likely not cause of a cheap "non gaming grade" sensor, I doubt that a higher polling rate will increase the performance

btw, how can you game with that mouse, IMO the shape is terrible (my co-worker has it) but I like the shape of my (different) generic Dell mouse here at work but it's sensor isn't up for gaming either

well, its not all that easy, but I don't have the money for anything else right now so I'm just trying to make do for the time being. The shape makes my hand cramp after awhile, but I really dont need to be playing that long anyway (even though I sometimes do) ^_^

I can't use it well with a palm grip, but claw grip has been alot better for my control as well as accuracy. If I get the chance I think I'll get a WMO.

low ql sens (2.3), but have EPP on, windows sens 6/11

You might be able to dodge the issues by using medium or high sens, but that's about it.

If you're ok with EPP, I suggest you turn it off and use the QL command cl_mouseaccel with a value that suits you, ie. low enough that you don't feel the accel when turning normal, fast enough so the mouse doesn't skip so easy.

is there a way to calculate what your sens & cl_mouseaccel would be with epp off that is the equivalent of what I have now?

Actually increasing the polling rate might help solve the issue, it does increase the max perfect control speed in alot of mice with 8-bit data paths (wmo, ie3.0, mx300, mx500 etc) which this mouse probably has considering its price and the fact that its from dell

I doubt that modern generic office mice still have a 8-bit data path and the 8-bit data path shouldn't cause terrible skipping but neg. accel..

I OC'd the mouse to 500 using hidusbf and it feels much more responsive now (I should have done this much sooner). Using mouseratechecker it looks like the polling rate varies depending on the speed I move the mouse, but averages 475-490 (never quite making it to 500) even though it does dip quite low sometimes, usually while moving the mouse slower.

Still working on sensitivity, but its a hell of a lot better than what it was. If it does well, the only problem I'll have with it is its shape.

Other issues include: in_mouse 1 or 2? (using 2 now).
