The most recent important hardware releases when we talk about gaming & hardware are the SteelSeries Xai Laser mouse and the arriving of 22" 120 Hz TFT monitors. Every gamer has heard about the two new models,
Samsung 2233rz and
Viewsonic VX2265wm FuHzion. Acer and Asus will release new monitors as well.
Opinions are going from "my old TFT is okay, but if the technology getting better i will buy one" to "it´s the best TFT i´ve ever had for gaming" or "CRT users grab the new TFT's, you will be happy for the first time". Some of us "hardcore gamers" are still using a CRT for some reasons but my feeling is the CRT crowd will getting weaker since the arriving.
The advertisement theme from Samsung's and Viewsonic's "3D gaming with 3D pair of glasses" for the new gaming monitors is maybe not the best choice, because 3D gaming is somewhat of a gimmick as i would say and not so much for the hardcore gamers. The slogan "3D" is more related to cinema and the upcoming home tv approach. But it´s not really important here what the ad slogan is.
To Samsung and Viewsonic i want to adress, please get in contact with lan tournament organisations, or hear the lan organisations out, support them with monitors for "fast paced FPS games" so that the gamers can see good matches on the tft monitors to show their quality. and help that these TFT's become more of a standard in the gaming world. Give the players what they wanted for a long time.
I dont want to open up another topics to discuss and mini-review the experience so please use our existent
Hardware Forum for that. Tell us what is your experience with the new models. Do you feel input lag, is there a smoother better gameplay?
