It does not have correction, meaning it does not adjust movement to create more straight lines. That is actually how accurate you are in making a straight line.

Correction is off by default on the DA 3.5 and I don't have an issue making a straight line. Making a pixel perfect one though is silly to even care about imho.

you want a 1.1a - they have the most superior optical sensor in the imo / wmo brand

check under the mouse next to the sensor, should say 1.1a or nothing at all.

1.1 and 1.1a is if it's oem ir if it came in a box. No difference whatsoever on the product.
Gotfraggers think it's wmo and ime respectively (well i learned that here) or that it must say "1.1" or "1.1a", both assumptions are wrong.

it's almost impossible to have a 1.0 these days, and totally sure if you bought it new.

get it working on 500hz and youŽll have one of the best mouse around. And be sure it will die "soon" since wmo and ime have a bad mouse cord, being that the reason why you can't have a 1.0 (it's not "bad" actually it lasts around 6-8 years, but even then you will have a 1.1 sensor).

Yeah, I bought this IMO brand new about a month ago from Amazon. I had the original that came out about 6 years ago, but it had a broken button so I ordered a new one once I realized that the DA was less comfortable.

One other question: why 500hz and not 1000hz?

1000hz = 1ms 500= 2ms. You won't notice the difference. It's also much more consistent.

Actually with the Salmosa I notice a difference between 500 and 1000 hz. When I go back to 500 hz it feels as if very low acceleration is added only with small movements in-game.

In theory 1 ms is not noticable, in practice there might be other things changing as well. and no it's not placebo, I can accurately feel the difference in polling rate with that mouse.

How would you rate the Salmosa out of 10? I was thinking about trying that mouse out, since I like the concept of hardware switches vs. driver/OS hacks. I alternate between a claw and palm grip and prefer lighter mice. Also, does it track well on QcK mats?

Tracking on QCK is very good, no issues at all. I personally don't like the slippery sides of the mouse, but I guess it's preference (My hands can sweat a lot)

Make sure it's 800dpi and 500hz. 1600dpi is a little glitchy, the same with 1000hz. Be weary of the sweaking mouse2 button. If it happens, Razer will replace it :)

9/10, because the lift-off is too high on some mousemats out of the box. It is fixable, I wrote aboute it some time ago.

I have to disagree again, I found that the salmosa skips on a Qck and very low sensitivities (50 cm/360° or more). I have an old Qck mat, maybe the newer ones are different.
