My reply wasn't meant to have any sense.
But actually, I heard that currently ESWC has problems because they ask too much (like, 20000 eur for license), and in some countries, organizations who previously did qualifications for ESWC, already declined to do it in 2010 so ESWC has to find new partners in these countries.
I don't think there is much time to settle such things, so there's a good chance that they will simply invite participants instead.

I think they will have qualifiers in May, this is what i heard again. Hopefully someone will come here and told us exactly what is going on.

So there's like 4 qualifiers announced, none or major European countries or North American countries.

Also, the rules have been posted for QL. Standard five map pool, standard rules, custom huds allowed (as long as it doesn't allow an advantage)

Chile has a decent scene of about 16 teams and some good duelers. Other southamerican countries almost don't have players at all, besides argentina which has some duelers. I say there are 2 duelers of each chile and argentina (4 in total) ahead of all the rest, but peru and brazil are terrible on quake live, which you could prove by seeing stats by country (especially peru, nobody plays) and which countries have servers (chile since august 2009 and argentina since about october, but id closed argentinian servers for 2 months because of admin problems).

I think qualies are on peru and brazil because they still have lots of cs teams and the concept of "i can win money playing games" rofl. That happened in chile from about 2002 to 2006 (cpl world tour), in brazil always existed and continues, and peru joined just recently (~08).

but besides cs....probably nobody will show to play quake live in peru, and in brazil a total noob would qualify if no chilean or argentinian player goes there. Maybe it happens maybe not, but it could be since I know a case where someone (no nicks) went abroad to play painkiller in some foreign cpl stop and to do that he cancelled classes in his university so he could practice (sick), then lost on the first round to fatality about 60 to 0 jaj.
