Update: The cup is over! Here are the rankings:

1st. DaHanG
2nd. rapha
3rd. ZeRo4
4th. tehnewbz
5-6th. swooped / griffin
7-8th. dCoy / Chance

All demos are available on quakescene.com and some VODs can be found on Quake-Live.tv and djWHEAT.tv.

That's right, tomorrow starts the Silent Gamers Cup featuring three IEM ESL World Championship competitors from the US

rapha and

DaHanG as well as

Vo0 from the Netherlands who qualified but can not play, and his spot was deservedly given to

Griffin. Video Streaming will be available thanks to Quake-Live.tv and djWHEAT.tv as we prepare for an exciting weekend and glimpse at our star players before the IEM World Tournament begins in March.

DaHang is not even close to being able to challenge strenx to a lightning gun fight.

37% overall lg vs 45% overall lg..
And thats blocking out that strenx use LG 41% of the time as well :p

If your looking for someone that can challenge strenx's LG aim you have to look back a few years for someone like toxic.

Agreed with the percentages but Dahang seems to be particular good at lg vs lg. In the most recent demos his lg vs lg looked as good as Strenx. Strenx uses lg rather than other weapons vs none lg so maybe this would clock his accuracy percentage up a little?
Stenx has developed a big name for him-self with the lg so it will be cool to see if some players would like to challenge him lg vs lg in the world finals :)

His aim is indeed fine, but looking closer he only shot 363 lg shots in a 15min game. Also only winning 1-2 fights with lg.
Seems he only goes for it when he is in a position where he is sure to hit.
He doesnt deserve to be put in a league with strenx and toxic though, he just gives frags away and his only concern seems to be his shots hitting.

strenx best lg fighter DIRECT to enemy, then it stands in front of you, coz of low sens. I long though he is best lg fighter in world, but NO, cypher even have better OVERAL lg, coz strenx in close or fast batles sux with lg hard, even I know how to out aim him in some situations. but ofcors strenx lg rox, but im now sure he isnt #1 lg'er :)

I've noticed his akiles heel is close range lg fights. Cypher is good with his drawcrosshair 2 at size 60 and low fov :) 'tis a good combination for alot of situations.

for some its easier to track if you dont "hit the crosshair in the model" but rather "keep the model inside the crosshair", eg drawcross 7 is pretty nice to track, cooller uses it as well right now (now fanboy shit, just e.g).

I use crosshair 2 at 60 with hitstyle 2 and crosshaircolor 2 fov 95 with medium sens. This crosshair only looks right at r_mode 5 though, its way too chunky at other modes.

With a large crosshair you can aim with the 'screen geometry' easier. Shafting correctly 'looks' a certain way that you can become familiar with and recreate. I kind of consider this a gaming secret, but hardly anyone reads these things so w/e.

5-6 years back I used a big crossair for shaft, but last couple of years i've used a dot for it.
I don't really think the crosshair will actually change your accuracies buy changing it around. It's just a question of personal preference... or what you find pleasant to look at or play with.

Think many people are looking for shortcuts to get better, that aint there, by playing around with various pros configs.
Sure certain commands ease the game up for you and can give you an edge over non tweakers, bob, muzzleflash, smoke, curves etc etc.. But crosshairs are not one of them :<

Three annoying factors for me with streaming.
1. Buffering / laggy streams
2. Low quality
3. When im watching it on my TV it's impossible to see the score of the player being tracked because the color/quality combination just makes it a smur.

You're right he hasn't lanned, but at the same time I don't think hes been dodging a ton of opportunities either. From what I've seen the whole "online superstar" term has generally been used when a person wants to imply doubt about another players abilities. If you wanted to just point out the fact that he hasn't lanned yet you could of done that in a better way imo, so as it stands it sort of seems like a jab at him...

Streams are now back to normal, had some hardware issues that cropped up at just the wrong time, but it's all fixed now, stream is back to it's usual sexy self.

The bad news was that my stream cut out. The GOOD NEWS (ironically), is that Dahang and other players faced a lot of connection issues at that exact same time, so they are postponing their matches to tomorrow.

This means that nobody is missing anything, and the streams tomorrow will be as good as ever.

There were a ton of good games, but at their current form and judging the euros at their current form, I'd say these two guys (rapha n dahang) better start grinding. A lot of bad aim and a lot of bad mistakes.

zero4 finished 3rd is a surprise to me. Good job though.

Well if we're using your logic, then I played fine at Quakecon as well. I'm confused. Guess you have more leverage because I didn't play in the CTF tourney with only three tough opponents. The entire tournament I played spartie, allmental, toxic, fazz losing too spartie and fazz and there's not much I could have done about.

they played 2 bo5 because DaHang came from the losers bracket and won the first bo5.

DaHang won the first dm6, think he only lost t9 in the first bo5, then in the 2nd bo5 he lost dm6 after that mad chase at the end of normal time. :)
