Hope it's not an all-in tactic that always works and that everyone will use. Would suck to see every protoss game start and end like this

I think we can trust Blizzard to be quite good at balancing (rts) by now ;)

I played some online games including Blizzard's and I have to agree - they're good at balancing.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that Blizzard will have the game perfectly balanced by the end of the beta. I dunno if this was partly Artosis' mistake or just a valid game tactic, because I didn't notice the fleet beacon either, but upon watching it again, I think the Mothership is in production before the FB went up.

Not sure how it works, anyone with a beta key can confirm? :(

You need a fleet beacon to make the mothership.

Ah ok, cause something was being made in the Stargate before the fleet beacon was up I think

The tactics in itself is quite poor, the only reason it worked this time around is because Artosis was completely oblivious to it happening until the mothership actually spawned. Had he checked around some he'd have seen the fleet beacon and made some anti-air.

Had he more knowledge of the game he'd have even figured something was off when KingHillBilly had so few troops. However, he was caught completely off guard (as was I) and that almost always spells doom in Starcraft. test

this looks interesting, even to someone with no SC knowledge like me.

i'd like to try the game out but i'm really shitty at RTS. couldn't micro to save my life in Warcraft 3 and i'd try the same things over and over again.

any tips on how to get started with SC?

SC2 is a LOT more newbie friendly, and matchmaking works just fine. The novice maps and slower game speed will have you on a much more level playing field.

i don't have access to the beta. thought i'd learn SC anyway to get a hang of things.

Just remember that SC1 is very unforgiving and you'll likely end up facing guys who has played it for 10 years. In SC2 the match making should make it excellent for any skill level though.

N. Korea... you should institute a national Quake Live program, where every able person practices Quake Live regularly. If Korea goes RTS, N. Korea should go FPS.

same problem, guessing its just a version incompatibility issue.

ok, an easier solution is just to start a game vs ai on the map that the replay you wanna watch is played on, then quit (or win or whatever). after that you can go ahead and watch it.
