yeah, I tried it once, but I failed miserably (I had only a knife to work with though)
you should do what I did: smash it with a hammer, toss it in the garbage and order a wmo
If you don't use the side-buttons, you could remove them and unsolder the microswitches for them. Other than that it's only the light that is easily removable and that will only save you a couple of grams. Next step would be to drill holes in the plastic casing.
