i bought CS:Source from Steam when it was like 4 euros.. i tried to play the game online, but the custom sounds bullshit was unbearable

play CS:S Promod if you want servers with no extra garbage..

1.6. NEVER pubs. Only mixes/pcw. The only time a pub server will be decent on CS1.6 is on a fun server with friends

Source isn't that bad, especially the UK scene, far better than the bunch of terrible, annoying pricks that are left playing 1.6.

Yeah but for 1.6 the UK teams fail on such an epic level it's not even funny and nobody pays attention to them anyway :P

I play plenty of CS1.6 and DOD1.3 with English lads who aren't chavs or arseholes. Plenty of English people who are all mature people playing these games, just depends on who you play with. Problem is, the majority of these 'pro' UK players are chav retards :P

Gameplays just nicer in the originals I'd say. Source versions of CS and DOD feel slower (just not as sharp movement wise), too fat and cluttered. It's probably because of the viewpoint change and all the useless junk they added to maps to make them look prettier (OMGPHYSICSENGINELOLOLOL). TF2 is the only sequel to one of those big old games that actually plays well, but then it's rather far removed gameplay wise from QWTF and TFC anyway so it just stands up by itself. Even the source mod version of TFC just sucks compared to the original :P

It depends on what level you want to play at, I've played with invite level teams since 2004/5 and I'd say probably 70% are people that live up to the usual UK CS player stereotype.

TF2 was different, alot of nice people in that community, reminded me a bit of the old TFC days, just a shame I'm having to use a shitty graphics card now which cant cope with TF2, or at least playing a scout in pcw's.

Well whatever you do, don't read up on the clanbase UK match that was on last night. They seem to chav-nerd-rage every game they play. Last night when the game finished and the other team was saying gg etc the reply from one UK player was "fuck off"

Haha yeah, I've already seen it on hltv. They're pretty sad, I mean I don't play CS anymore but when I did those we're the kind of players I played with, they're terrible at CS, and even worse at being normal people, kinda sad that they're representing the UK both skillwise and otherwise.
