I guess this can only be good news but personally I have no confidence in angel as a business man.

Angel isn't involved in CPL anymore. That's been a while now.

Dunno, he's made up companies in the past, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was more of the same. The fact that they apparently contacted him instead of Valve directly is questionable. Likely just another scheme to win the trust of gamers, just to steal their money again.

They contacted him for Valve contacts.

They could have contacted Valve directly. I've even done this when helping a LAN center get steam licenses.

I'm sure it's the exact same department. Even if it wasn't, how hard is it to just call them up and ask to be transferred?

Why would you not go through contacts if you have access to them is my point though. You're point is valid i'm not going to argue that though.

It's not like Angel has some secret contact. Getting a license isn't even hard, so Angel is just trying to get attention.

Or maybe cpl is trying to get some attention by going through Angel :P

One of the major issues that have come up over the years has been the alleged non-payment of prize monies to a number of players from previous CPL events. As we start to unveil our new course for CPL, the previous owners and we would like to show our commitment to the community and those that participated in the past CPL events by paying anyone who can prove that they did not receive their prize payments. These claims will go through a vetting process and be audited by a third party. The form to begin the process, if you feel you’re qualified, will be released this week as part of the CPL Portal rollout.
