I really wish the Quake Live scene had more of this kind of dedicated admins. I live on the other side of the world and from what I've seen, you've got one of the best national competitions out there. The publicity that you're giving your events is top notch and the amount of content that you're producing for this kind of event is insane. Since you're not supported by any big organisations such as the ESL, it's entirely your hard work that has made those comps so interesting and alluring.

I hope that there are much more people that really appreciate your hard work and I hope that you're getting something special out of it, as well, because you deserve it. Keep up the good work!

The appreciation from our community has already been seen with lots of donation support for prizes etc. Just we try to handle what we get for future planning, so you're right if we had a bit more financial ground you would see a lot more done!

yes they are correct if you feel like staying up that late / getting up that early! We will be holding off on quarter finals until the time forecast gets up, which we will be streaming all 4 quarters, both semi's and the grand final, one after the other

you would probably not believe me when I say this but when I first wanted to run a duel competition I only expected 16 sign ups. I paid for a web domain, found a free web template (remembering I don't earn much irl), I used little web skills I had to make a few links work, change a few names, worked out how to make a phpbb forum started asking people in quake live if they wanted to play in my duel competition for fun.

Loaded up bracket maker, saw they did 16 double elimination, so I asked for 16 people to play. Next thing i know i have the 16 filled, so I open another competition for 16 people, next I know that is filled. Then I open another 16 and I am like how can I even run all this lol but bracket maker saved me and then I just transferred it into the website.

Then people started to sook that my website made their eyes bleed so then i found another template, and people are still very upset they cannot get rid of the blood from there eyes so then I finally PAY for another template....

then some people that play in my competitions come to me and are like hey i build websites and i love quake, can we make you a good website cos the one you have now is making people cry blood. And it was with the 3rd and current website that I set up a paypal cos people were asking me how they could support me to make things better

What I am trying to say is if people in South America and South Africa are interested in Quake live and there is a few people that are clever technically they can band together and just start simple.

Too many people now days go hey look at me I have money, they find somebody who knows how to create stuff like websites/forums/code/tournaments and give them lots of money and instructions of what they want. Then after realise nobody even cares about this or that (that he got put in) and people want this and that that he didn't get put in and so nobody uses it and that is stupid.

everything you said, me and another guy.. not kidding .. we tried with quake3, but now in brazil.. we dont have a quakelive server so we got fucked, unless people in there want to pay for a domain or server whatever(now im living in buenos aires and here there is one server and in chile another , both i have same ping so i dont care actually) what i actually care is about a server in brazil or something, because the rest i or some of my friends can do for make everything better, but you know.. hard to tell you if i start paying for a server in brazil for quakelive.. its expensive.. i mean.. 500 us dollars a month. but i do really appreciate what you`ve wrote and somethings you`ve passed is really pleasure for me as a remark. thanks!

probably not near rapha, cooller, cypher or av3k lol. The problem with Australia / NZ is not many good players to constantly practice against, and train hard etc. No pro-gaming teams where players get paid or sponsored which makes for even less practice, it would be a good reality check for our Australian / NZ duelers to see a few people fly over, and hopefully if 4seasons gaming can one day afford to fly somebody over it will be nice to see how they do

Actually agardenchair not to take anything away from the winners but I would like to enlighten viewers of an incident that occurred on match day.

Nomey who finished equal third was actually beaten in both his maps of the bo3 against a young player called Zenaku, unfortunately just as we expected, Zenaku broke our 'trial' time out rule in both maps (which was only 1 timeout per map rather then the three you are given by the game) and instead Zenaku was forced to forfeit both games and lose the match.

I think Zenaku vs Ventz could really have gone either way just like first three maps of the zlr grand final, as zenaku does practice the most and was in good form on the day

he didnt forfeit, he was caught cheating/exploiting. we all know zenaku would never give up his spot.

Don't get me wrong, I love Australia. I have traveled a lot, but because of my family. From childhood, there was only one place I ever wanted to go, and that place was Australia. Now that i've been, I can somewhat understand why. I love it there, and the people and I are perfectly congruent.

Why do such associations occur? I don't know, but Christianity can eat balls.

If there's one thing i've learned, it's that people are more important than places. You could be in the best place, but if you are with a bunch of miserable assholes, you will be miserable too. As much as I love Australia, it is a material location which will eventually end. It's more about the spirit... as they say, 'no worries'.
