You know, it has already happened that players inverted their nick in a Lan. :o)

Even if they were in the same team (aAa) I remember a famous French story (+1500 comments) staring Thefou and Kazuyama who switched their nick during a Q3 CTF final between aAa and S? (it was at the 2005 Gamer Assembly edition if I'm right).

The fake worked fine, because S? focussed the pressure on Thefou (who was in fact kazuyama) while the real Fou (renamed in Kazuyama) escaped from their base with the flag and got the victory capture. Because of that (it was forbidden by the rules) aAa finally lost the final.

The comic situation was that during an ITW of the aAa coach with thefou, people were able to see Thefou playing on the full big stage screen, simply because it was Kazuyama who was in warmup with the fake nick. (but nobody noticed that on the moment).

Lol thats so French, if you can't surrender, cheat your way to a defloss.

id Software also finally managed to fix their LAN server, so we should be safe this time :)
