The Bisu-sAviOr MSL final is such an unforgivably poor example to select. Shows absolutely no understanding of the metagame change caused by the Bisu build, the strengths of Bisu's skillset or the weaknesses of sAviOr's.

The reply was trying to point out that a random site that has NOTHING to do with SC writes a completely random article for SC on something that wasn't even as big a deal as people thought. Even attempting to support the SC community by saying that it's news, this would certainly not be the best way to introduce people to the game.

Not the main issue anyway - this isn't the first time cadred tried to incite drama/controversy just to get hits, and it won't be the last.

an esports writer, for an esports site, writes an article covering a current event in an esports game in one of the most important esports country

so what if cadred isn't a SC only site?

only people who have played the game non stop for 10 years and are fluent in korean have the right to even consider writing an article that mentions starcraft?

It ONLY wants to get hits. You care nothing for the actual quality of the news, or the help that it is to the community.

Again, even trying to defend this as being productive since it's better than no news is just wrong. This is a TERRIBLE way to introduce people to SC, it wasn't a big deal to begin with, and we will likely NEVER know who the people were who did it.

i guess the article just isnt aimed at someone like you who follows the sc scene so closely. for everyone else its great to get the whole situation explained in one well written article.

Richard comes from a CS:S background and is writing for a CS:S site, while I'm sure he made his best effort, I'm sure he also knows that he is not able to do a truly in depth article, but he is trying to diversify his writing and Cadred to be more of an eSports site and not just CS:S.

This article was to give the Cadred userbase an idea of what is happening, and for him personally to try his writing in a new, unfamiliar territory which I have to applaud as the English speaking eSports world needs more writers like him who are trying to write real articles. Since the falls of GotFrag, Amped/Gameriot (disclaimer yadayada), Carmac going to ESL the only site writing interesting articles these days seems to be Cadred, which is great but the lack of competition is simply boring. I would even be excited to see a new evan article.

Hi,

Just thought I'd pop on and thank everyone for their comments, even the ones that on the surface appear wholly negative.

First I wanted to say I had no idea my work would be linked on this site and can understand why some of you may feel a bit disappointed. The aims of the article wasn't really to write something for the Starcraft hardcore - I doubt I have the detailed knowledge of the game (as much as I enjoy watching it) to push those buttons.

I simply wanted to write a summary of what had happened, with some context behind it, that could be read and appreciated by non-Starcraft players and those not involved in e-sports alike. Just a universal piece, that captures a story and explains it.

There was a little bit more went into it than Google as my friend and colleague Thorin asserts, but I appreciate that you faithful followers of the game may have been hoping for something more. Sadly, I'm not the man to deliver on that and nor would I claim to be.

Anyway, thanks for letting my work be linked to on your site and thanks for the feedback.
