or is it just for manageing the dpi, hz, extra sens and profiles?
^^ This.
Also to add a shitton of delay and to have fun with the only drivers that still mess with your sens when you're using raw input.
Mess with the driver sens. While it should be bypassed with in_mouse 2 my sens was divided by 2.
"Old" Deathadder, recent firmware and driver, 4-5months ago.
Strange. Also, the drivers made the mouse movements feel floaty, kinda like m_filter 9001 or the way quake4 handles mouse input ( if you see what I mean, that strange heavy m_filter/floaty/neg accel feeling ).
Maybe was my da completely fucked from the day I bought it.
I had the same 'problem' with my deathadder in Q4, but I think that's mainly to do with windows sensitivity. If I used 1800dpi 3/11 it'd negative accel. If I used 450dpi at 6/11 it was fine.
I've been using a wmo @500hz for the past few months and q4 still feels like shit. It does feel a bit better now that I'm fucking around with mouse accel even if I can't help but think cg_placebo.
Quake4 uses directinput : my win sens is 8/11 yet my ingame sens is the same as ql using raw input. So it's unrelated to windows. Or maybe did you use in_mouse -1 to get rid of the buffer overflow bullshit caused by razer mice? That would be logical then, you get a shitton of neg accel with high dpi mice.
Meh. Still feels strange and I'm not the only one to complain about that particular problem. Seems to be related to both the doom3 engine and maxfps. But yeah, I'd probably get used to it if I played more quake4.
Anirs moudrv.sys also affect raw. You can for example use sensitivityx&y 0.5 (registry) and in_mouse -1, 1 and 2 are all the same. Don't know how it's with razer drivers tho.
I have always used drivers for my deathadders. Is it possible to make it keep the dpi settings without the drivers installed?
Because since i can't update firmware on my deathadders, only the 450 dpi setting lets me play without skipping.
I used to use them on my deathadder for double click on the mousewheel. Got a Xai now which means I can just program a macro onto the mouse (LED panel thingy)
I've played cod for some years now, with the latest Deathadder 3500
on XP with the latest drivers and firmware installed and no additional mouse fix or anything of that sort.
When using this Mouse movement recorder on my desktop it clearly shows that I have no acceleration which is great. I play at 900 dpi with 500hz and it clearly shows to be at that value when I'm controlling the mouse on the desktop.
Im guessing the red and green bars are caused by the fluctuating polling rate, but correct me if I'm wrong. I have LAN in 3 days for 10k euro's would be great if someone could give me a hand :D
(cringe I know.. )

I'm not sure it's related but I remember cod using a "less shitty" ( it's still so dirty there's no word ) implementation of the " get the windows pointer movements and translate them into the game " thing.
It recenters the pointer @ every frame drawn or some hacky shit to get rid of the neg accel when you hit the edge of the screen. So it *might* be related but I'm really not sure at all.
you can still get negative accel through having a low framerate & high sens or dpi for the windows mouse.
but no semi-modern rig runs cod at a low framerate so it's never really a problem.
i still wish cod had raw input though, it's not a huge deal but the stuff that cod uses just doesn't feel the same (and not as good imo) as raw input.
Yeah, that way of getting mouse input is pure shit and every fps coder who doesn't implement raw input should be hung by the balls while being molested with a mx518.
wtf, 2010 + it's worth 2 hours of coding.
ahm it whould mess, because if you change the dpi or senstivity from the drivers program, then it will mess, because in_mouse 2 will disable all of this. And in the lan tournaments, you cannot setup the drivers easily, you know there will be a lot of gamer on that computer too. So i think you should just play without drivers. There will be nothing to worry.
Hovewer i dont know why, some says that in_mouse 2 doesnt apply for razer, but i havnt seen it before, for now i am using WMO. dont need drivers and works great.
gl hf dude
Won't mess with dpi/hz as long as the mouse has some form of onboard memory, as the old deathadder does.
And if yours can save settings, why bother with drivers when it's set the way you want it to be? usb2, the peripherals can tell windows and it's default 125hz to fuck off.
ye yea i know if the mouse has memory then its not a problem, but when the driver is only on the computer like db, then it will mess, my previous mouse was db and because of that issui, i uninstalled the driver, then it worked great.
