There's talk of some bug/exploit with larvae in the latest patch, so you might have to watch out for it. =X

Well, I assume it is banned here like in most tournaments. If they don't ban it or it isn't hotfixed until then, this tournament is pointless.

Make egg, extra larva spawns. Cancel egg, get larva back, extra larva is still available.
Repeat, make zerglings, rush.

whats the deal with sc? why is it so populair? its not very noob friendly :( cant follow it on stream other then the basic of one killing the other. No clue about the deeper strategy :/

I've only been playing the Starcraft 2 beta for about a week and I've been enjoying it immensly. I've had no previous experience with RTS at all (I play DoTA & HoN but they don't really compare). At first it was hard just to figure out what unit and building does what exactly, but I just created games with no opponent and just build EVERY unit, building and upgrade to see what they are.

The best way to get into Starcraft without owning the game or having beta is to watch shoutcasted replays. Search YouTube for them (HDStarcraft and HuskyStarcraft are good casters in my opinion, search for them). After a bunch of replays you'll know what they're talking about and understand what's going on. Also, http://wiki.teamliquid.net/ has a ton of information on players, tactics, terms, etc. Granted, it takes a few hours or a few days before you start getting a clue what's going on, but it's really fun to watch. I guess the difficulty curve is pretty weird. You can understand the basics pretty fast, but after that there comes so much depth.

yes thats what i meant, basics are easy but the depth after that is eek!

yeah like he said check out husky and HDstarcraft, SC2GGRise is also excellent, and Blizzshouter is alright too.

Play all 3 races until you know all the nuances of the units. I recommend merely playing through all the campaigns, as it's the easiest way.

And the most boring.

Just play random against friends. It takes about five games with each race to be able to understand perfectly a match shoutcasted by a good commentator.

Campaign is fine.
