Rubber coating is used by pointing devices a lot, including razer mouses. Older ones only on buttons, but all new have entire shell covered with it.
Problem is it wears out, for some users even after a couple of months. My question is, if anyone here tried to remove it? I've googled some results before. Someone suggested nail polish remover, that it removes paint easily. It seems that under that layer, there is normal glossy plastic surface. I've managed to find only two examples:

I'm looking for safe method, that wont damage mouse shell. I'm using salmosa, after ~1,5 year of usage, nasty polished/worn areas appeard where fingers press buttons.
