I do believe you get used to it as long as you use a decent sensitivity ( and by decent I mean anything above 12 or so cm/360 ). It will def. affect your aim if you keep switching mice ( as you will mimic the movements you do with the one you're used to ) but it's only a matter of days to get used to.
When i was using my deathadder, it often felt like short horizontal flicks were " on rails " but I never had trouble " getting out " of the correction to go a bit in diagonal.
I had a hard time getting used to the wmo then, with my x/y movements feeling shaky as fuck. Better accuracy nowadays but it's purely because I feel more comfortable with the wmo than with the fatty

Now, I wonder if correction wouldn't help a little bit tracking someone with the lg. I mean, it feels like a toggle between a slightly lowered m_pitch and a standard one to me.

People knew about it, but most realized it doesn't make much of a difference so they didn't care. We had discussions about this many years ago on ESR.

prediction cons:
-you start aiming a bit arc-like to counter it in some situations(instead of just moving he xhair straight to your target)
kinda noticiable in aim games like www.aim400kg.ru/en/ or reflex
- hard to do micro movements when you have mid to high sens(rail shots, but especially noticiable in CS where you do small xhair movements while shooting from ak/colt or reaction shots with awp, the mice with prediction never got popular there because of it)
- you need to get used to it to get the feeling where the movement is straightened and where it's not

pros:
- easier in horizontal tracking duels(flat shaft fights in quake or smg fights in rtcw/et) where you mostly only gotta control one axis
- as for me it's also been easier to aim with pistol in ET(it bounces straight up after shooting)

Conclusion:
- it only matters if you have high sens(<15-20cm/360)
- with over 40cm/360 it doesnt affect at all
- with 20-40cm it affects aim until you adapt to it, after that it just changes the way you aim, but doesnt make it worse or anything

Final conclusion:

I notice the difference between my mx310 and my WMO instantly, but it doesn't seem to affect my aim in any way. The only instance I can imagine where prediction would be an impediment is if you have to do a 60-90 degree horizontal flickshot, but the target is a few pixels higher than the starting point of your xhair. The flickshot would be assimilated to a perfect horizontal movement and you'll end up aiming below, even if you on-pad vector of movement was 2 degrees upward and correct for the situation.

Prediction-less mice are as much of a scam as 10000DPI mice. Use what is comfortable.
