I have a CULV 2300 with a 4500 mhd for 2 weeks but didn't try any games yet. I'll install QL if nobody elsehere is able to do some tests

I just did a small test, I have 60 to 70 FPS @1024x768 on dm13 with 1 opp.

Not really playable when you're used to something better.

maybe stable 60fps.

intel gma 4500mhd is pretty nice for hd videos reading but pretty crap for games. 3200 is a bit better for games but apparently the configs you're looking for don't get a really nice cpu neither. I mean, 1.6ghz can for sure run quakelive, but don't expect awesome fluidity. With 1.6ghz & ati 3200 you'll probably get something like 45-50 stable fps with med-high details @ ql. Q3 will run smoother anyway, probably something in between 60 & 90 stable fps.

my macbook has a gma 4500 and ql runs "okay-ish" in windows 7 with a 2 ghz dual core cpu on 1280x800

q3 gives me with my cfg 90 fps with timedemo four and therefore isn't really playable :o

just an update incase anyoine else is getting one/has one.
i went ahead and bought a compaq/hp mini 311c which is running windows xp and i have added 2gb ddr3 ram so total ram is 3gb. system spec is atom 270 cpu, ion le gpu (which can be easily hacked to full ion which gives a small performance inscrease and also dx10 under win7) and the 3gb ram, increasing the ram also increases the ram allocated to video ram from what i gather.

after a quick bit of testing under quakelive i just turned all graphics options to lowest and set the maxfps to 60, which with the 60hz etc runs well, plenty playable. ive not yet messed around to find the optimal maxfps without any slowdowns yet but seeing as its fine set at 60 i dont think ill bother.

under cpma in q3 again i set everything in menu to lowest and get a pretty much constant 125fps very rarely dropping, that was only in 1v1 though. will try team games later. so im sure with optimal graphics settings it willrun at 125 constant.

not sure why q3 and ql are so different? does anyone know? firefox is obviously running with ql but thats only 60mb or so of ram.

anyways im more than happy with having just this machine as my main pc now. quake runs fine and quakeworld. also played some cs, deus ex etc which all run fine. all emulators running fine. even modern games like mw2 and sc2 are playable.

next up is to oc the gpu a little and softmod the cpu to something stable (1.8-2ghz) nice machine anyway and only cost £250.

did the softmod ION LE -> ION but you'll need Windows 7 to actually get any use of it much like you said sir

cpu does throttle @ stock and oc:ing it puts some pressure on the memory so i'd rather go for 1333mhz ones intead of the slightly cheaper 1066mhz. Somehow i couldn't get the memory unlinked witht the FSB even though i tried a couple of different hacked bioses

have u tried to run ql in chrome? it gives my a little bit more fps and game is somehow smoother :)

I just bought the Asus EEE PC 1201NL with an atom 270, ION and 1 Gb DDR2, to which I added a second bar of 1 Gb.

I haven't played games for a long time, so the playability is a bit hard to estimate, but I got around 70 fps when installing Quakelive. They jumped up and down a bit, so capping it to 60 maxfps like Skint described it might be a good idea.

You guys think about 70 fps on that machine running winxp is about right and what can be expected?
