Well, before I got my DeathAdder I was using a Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0.
I know, yuck, wireless mouse! But it actually worked pretty good.
Anyway, I never used a mouse pad with it, still tracked fine.
Well, not using a mouse pad for such a long time, I had no idea how much a mouse pad can increase lift-off distance (LOD) on a mouse.
So I order a black steelseries qck pad with my DA, because I wanted to use a mouse pad with my new mouse instead of just on my pull out drawer like I use to.
Well, I'm a low sensitivity FPS player, and I constantly pick up my mouse. Didn't even realize how often I pick up my mouse until I get the DA, and I pick it up a ton.
Well, this makes playing my games impossible while using the combo of the DA and the qck pad, so now I only use my qck pad for surfing.
Well, from what I can tell the DA tracks fine without a mouse pad.
I guess it depends on what your desk is made out of, but can anyone else confirm this, for peace of mind?
Anyway, what mouse pad would you guys suggest I get for my situation?
I love the qck pad, but apparently black cloth pads increase LOD more then any, so apparently I got the worse mouse pad I could possibly get, LOL.
So not only does cloth or hard matter, but it seems color does as well, but I'm not sure to what extent of either.
So, ideally, I would like to have a nice cloth pad, similar to the qck pad, but white.
My question is, will the white color be enough to reduce the LOD, or will I have to go hard?
Im guessing the ultimate LOD reducer would be a white hard pad.
I would rather have a cloth pad, but if I have to get a hard one that's what I'll do.
My buddy suggested this forum when I was asking him about LOD.
Any suggestions/help is very much appreciated.
Thanks.
