You are a level designer and want to make a room with a level playing field, but restrict the rl as the weapon of choice. How would you do it?
I'm not saying that that's what happened, but I think there is a chance.
It's a bit like putting pillars in a larger room to provide cover from rail, or water to slow movement or lava to restrict movement. All of those influence different weapons differently. Just like little holes in the ground.
I'm not saying it was a smart decision, especially with the way rockets hits.
its obvious those holes are meant to make rockets less effective but rockets didnt become useless because you can aim on the tiny plattforms between the holes.
On t9 those holes doesnt make much sense because there is always a wall nearby and its common to have close range fights at those holes.
In my opinion rockets are still the first choice to fight with at those places.

did you never try to fall down into those holes? It took me a few minutes to manage it. Thats the reason we consider it a bug. Its just a random factor.
