Anyone who isnt a retard knows that online tourneys dont mean shit, especially with QL's nonsensical netcode. And before you try to counter me with "strenx hater etc" or some other dumb fanboy argument, know that this applies to ANYONE who can win online but gets raped on lan (or dodges them entirely). Those players are fuckin mediocre and will never be taken seriously.

That being said, while strenx didnt do too bad on lan, he was nowhere near his invincible online status and he lost repeatedly to Cypher and other pros that he beat online.

btw, lan tournaments - is about 1% of quakelive fights, quakelive is ONLINE internet game, and it means that ONLINE eu champion strenx is real eu king of ONLINE game named Quakelive, logical?..

Also, if that garbage you typed actually qualifies as "logic" in russia then I feel sorry for you. Just because a game can be played online, doesnt make online play optimal for competition. Not with the wide ping differences, bullshit netcode, ability to get away with hacks, etc.

Strenx is just boring to watch though. Do it on LAN and I'd think better of him, but as it stands, it's impressive he's winning this much, but he chokes when it really matters

You just made my point. If he didn't care (cypher), he would not enter or rage quit. When strenx was winning earlier, people said it didn't matter because the top pros were not there. Now that they do and he still wins, you still need an excuse to batter the reason he is winning. This is an online tournament where people come to play and watch, so it must matter or we would not waste our time talking about it or watching it.

If he's going afk in the middle of games or on the phone whilst playing (and it looks blatantly obvious) then it's fair to assume he doesn't really care and is just entering to practice and maybe win some cash ontop. I join games all the time and just go afk in the middle of them to talk to people or whatever. Doesn't mean I should rage-quit or not enter in the first place because I just fancy playing and these things pop up :P

For a guy who was occupied with other things (like on the phone on T7 against Stermy) and still winning games, who cares? I think most people can agree that Cypher outclasses Strenx 99% of the time.

Cypher would trade his left nut in to own like strenx does online, and I’m sure most of us would to. This is a browser game which means it was made for online gaming. Who cares about winning online? All the freaking people who are here that play online games!

Yeah Zer1toN I know, it’s hard to face the truth. But wouldn’t it be great to log into a server knowing you’re about to own? Yup, I would give up my allowance for that!

Online games means factoring in connection, setup and location.

LAN removes all assets which could give one player a hardware advantage over the other. They both have the same equipment, ping and location.

Therefore, any argument about "online games are meant to be competed online" is a bit... derp?

Then you should stop all online gaming, and just play LAN. I bet you will only be playing a few times a year, but you can say "atleast I removed any advantage he might have over me". LMAO!

LAN is more fun, and not hard to set up every so often with mates, so yeah, good tip cheers
