I've always wondered, is the holysh1t stream delayed by a certain amount (like hltv's etc) or can a player actually just have it running alongside his monitor and just ghost the other player the whole match? :P
Having watched the demo, I'd be compelled to rate it a 0, not for Noctis, but for the other guys +back and dodginess.
I mean, there were some situations that just seemed too good to be true. Like him randomly jumping around a corner and railing first time or just constantly knowing EXACTLY where noctis was. I'm not calling the guy out on it (actually no wait, I probably am) and I don't doubt it's probably just that he's very good, but some of those situations were dodgier then midget scat porn.
Not even mentioning the boring +back fest. I mean... I know QuakeLive generally encourages defensive play, but that's just overkill...
I think it's hilarious how dodgey players like guard call other players cheaters who actually have proved themselves on lan (e.g. phoenix)
And this crying about +back is really getting tiresome. Whenever someone shows a intelligent game it's +back and boring. Get a different excuse kthx. Clearly phoenix showed a lot of respect to noctis and noctis showed zero respect to phoenix. Would noctis act the same way if this was a game vs rapha in the final of some big tournament, of course not. Noctis underestimated his opponent badly, and he should have known better.
Well, if you actually had an idea about Quake, you would know that Phoenix showed the exact same, at times crazy, aim at Gamegune, where he almost beat CZM and took a map from av3k.
It would be alot better to have some basic information about players before calling them dodgy.
Also, it is incredible that a huge lamer like Guard, who indeed is a dodgy player, calls legit players that own him "fucking aimbot". Personally, I think that should have lead to the disqualification of Guard happening i competition, but Quake does unfortunately not really have any standards regarding fair play.
Regarding Noctis, he is himself a player that camps plenty, so he definitely knows what he is calling out!
It is annoying when people make assumptions because of a lack of knowledge.
Gamegune was a high profile tournament, and true Quake fans will know what Phoenix did there.
Does anyone know why Sl1p, rather than Phoenix, is playing at ESWC for Spain btw?
That's like saying: "Nadal moves so much without getting tired, he is probably getting that special Fuentes treatment. But I'm not calling him a doper (wait a minute, I actually am), he probably just has that freak ability."
In one case, however, we have a proven, legit player, while Nadal is surely cheating, just as a sidenote.
The point is that Phoenix played the exact same defensive game with partly sick rails and lg at Gamegune, there is simply nothing that suggests he isn't a legit player.
Seen it before plenty of times. Players who are actually pretty good on LAN actually using cheats online just because they can't be caught and they want an easy ride.
Again, not saying this guy is, I'm just creating DRAMAZ :]
What is even the point of that? I mean, if you are good enough to get decent results on LAN where you obviously can't cheat, why would you play with cheats online? Wouldn't that bring a risk of learning bad habits (getting used to relying on the cheats) and getting caught Sombra style?
I can understand (even if not approve) someone using cheats to boost their skill, that's what cheating is supposed to do after all - get you results. But if that's out of the equation, all that's left is someone being a complete and utter fucking idiot for jeopardizing his good name and his innate skills.
GJ poni, looked like some nice solid games, he didnt let noctis get away with anything.
Dont understand the annoyance over ponis playstyle though.. Sure its annoying, but if it works it works. Plus its not like Noctis was playing the most "honorable" style.. Nothing more annoying to me than playing against someone who waits behind corners like that.
