It does perform pretty good. It's enough for me, i don't need super ultra 243463dpi sensor from Mars. I can aim as i want with it, and i really like the shape & weight, that's the most important thing to me. People are always saying that it's a crap mouse, but that's cuz they are noobs and they think that the mouse will do all the work for them. I mean, if you can't aim, you can't aim, whatever the mouse. And trying to find the perfect mouse is really really stupid, no mouse is perfect, practice makes perfect. As long as you feel comfortable enough with your mouse (like me) then it's ok, who cares about the rest ?

u re partly right but u must agree that i.e. wmo is unplayable with your sens without accel so its not a perfect mouse quest.. its jsut some mice re good and some not

my post was not to say that he certainly uses a Xai, just some additional info i felt i should add. this could mean that either he's been using both, OR he is stupid and thinks that he's using the Kinzu when infact it is a Xai. only he can tell us which one of these 2 is the case.

sorry i don't have any pics, but i did see the setups of all the players there, both Quakers and CSers. pretty much everyone had a Xai; and they were all sponsored by SS, like the CS team Fnatic.

yes i am sure. the easiest way to clear this out is the side buttons (Xai has them, Kinzu doesn't). i am sure what i saw was Xai, but we should keep in mind that there is a clear chance that strenx could have moved to a different mouse or something.

if you can, ask him if the mouse he is currently using has side buttons or not. that'll clear it out, and peace shall be restored to the land lol

I don't know how common it is, but I've heard that sometimes pros use something that is made by their sponsor(s) in a competition, or say that they do for an interview, then use what they prefer, whether made by their sponsor or not, when actually playing.

Strenx is using a kinzu cuz of his sponsor, yep. And he said that he still prefers his old mx518. He's still probably the best aimer with the kinzu though, and tbh i'm not sure if he would aim better with his old mx518. It's probably quite a lot about placebo and what mouse you're used to play with the most.

sens : about 25-30cm/360°.

also tried a bit of 40cm+/360°, seems to work fine.

I copied that from Microsoft's PDF... that sounds wrong, it sure doesn't feel like 185g.

The flicks are hard because the mouse does crazy stuff... not sure if it's negative accel or positive accel or just overloading the sensor (can only handle 20inch/sec).

The wheight in the data sheets are usually with cable which doesn't really tell you the real wheight but 184 incl. cable sound still pretty heavy.

I dont like the wmo either but i love my kinzu ....abit smaller/more flat etc so if you have huge hands it might be to small :P Anyway i guess the mouse have some flaws but i dont notice them ....for me its a great mouse.

Don't forget the the Xai is bigger and heavier than the KInzu. ;)

Sorry dude, i asked to Strenx few sec ago, he uses a KINZU

I had it, it's a good mouse considering I got it for 5€. On the other hand it moves the cursor semi-random when I was lifting the mouse off the pad, something that was unbearable for me. The feet are a little cheap, too much friction for such small mousefeet. The max. tracking is lower than that of wmo/ie30 so not good for 'fast aimers'.
Big plus is the feel of the mouse, it doesn't feel heavy, the shape and overall feel is quite unique.

it's decent and can be good enough for many, but i generally advise staying away from it. look for good, not just good enough.

Damn. So is there any decent optical mouse with a similar shape/size? The Kinzu was my only hope at this point.

The first other mouse that comes to mind is the MS Laser 6000, and although it may be fine for you, i'd still not recommend it. buying a Kinzu has it's own randomness, with some working really well while others get little lumps of crap.

have you ever tried the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0? why didn't you like the WMO?

The Laser 6000 is the same shape but with a laser sensor, I tried it. It skips horribly.

I used the MSIE3 with a different playing style, decent mouse, but I like the 3000's light weight, smaller size, and way I can kind of grip the mouse with just my fingers.WMO's nice, but the shape of the 3000 is better and it feels much more accurate in smaller precision movements, but can't keep up for really large swings of the mouse.

I guess I'll take a risk on the Kinzu. If it doesn't work out, I'll stick with the 3000.

I would like to try one of these new high dpi mice but I'm unsure if my aim will get better. I'm used to playing with the same shape/mouse for nearly 8 years now. Before mx518 I used the mx500. I always use it without drivers and 500hz overclock usb.

I've also been using a fatpad for like... i dunno :D Whenever it got realesed I bought a fatpad and I'm still using it to this very day. I washed it twice and its as good as new.

used it for many years but not for quake so it didnt matter that much

personally i think that mx seris mice have the best optical sensor u can get

it outperforms everything else but has correction which on the other hand is much overhyped

so imo if u like the mouse dont change it

of course deathadder outperformed them slightly and it has no correction

BUT

#1 deathadder tends to jitter on some pads while mx's works on everything very well

#2 correctiion is actually nothing ot be worried about, avek plays with it and is doing quite fucking well ;) cyphers using m_filter etc and other play with accel so correction is no challenge for your muscle memory and it can help in some sitiations

3.0 - great mouse but consider Deathadder. In my eyes better version of 3.0 and also bit more expensive... had both and they are both great and precise just slight difference in comfort and sensor (DA is not laser).
