no, i think razer as a company are shit. i still use one of their mice since its the only one with a good shape/weight and high enough max perfect control speed (abyssus).

cell phones, shoes and other stuff is designed to wear out and die so the company can sell you new ones. razer took this strategy one step further. they sell you a product that is useless out of the box so you can go and buy another one right away.

Didn't they go bankrupt some years ago? You'd think they learned something from that, like put out a solid product, but no. Their products have been shit since the first boomslang that I personally know of (it started falling apart after 2 weeks) and they don't seem to have improved any. Last time I gave razer a shot was with the diamondback. Apparently that mouse "drew too much power for some motherboard usb ports" according to razer themselves. So half the time you turned your computer on or plugged the mouse in it wouldn't be detected or turn on. I took it back and they won't ever get another cent from me.

I do, however, grow my own cucumbers should any razer employee(s) care to stop by, sit on one and spin.

Eh, if you actually knew anything about that whole debacle you wouldn't be saying they haven't improved anything . Theyre ENTIRE production run of Boomslangs (the one before the BS 2100) were flawed and broken. I lost $200 in refund's that never came back and Mike Luther the president of Leftbid / Synergy Media (the company that owned Razer at the time) promised refunds which never arrived. None of those people are with the company anymore save the founder Razerguy, as they are now owned under. I have owned a Diamondback, Copperhead and DeathAdder since then and will say I've only had to replace the Copperhead and I still use the Diamondback on my laptop. Quality control has definitely improved, as should be expected. Even if it's not the best you can't sit here and say Logitech's is really much better. I've had an MX518 replaced 3 times and I know lots of other people who have as well. The cord connection interface were garbage on the first generation of those. I think people place more importance on their on bad luck experiences then being able to get a general statistic that would show other manufacturers are pretty much on par with them in terms of DOA rates and hardware flaws.

Well I've never had a mouse from another company not work because it draws too much power for usb ports. That was their explanation when the problem with the diamondback was going on. And frankly that's absurd.

Over the years I've owned 2 Logitech ball mice (one being my beloved wingman), wireless mouseman optical, mx300, mx518, 2 mx310. Only problems with any of those have been the 300's scroll wheel recently stopped working (after what 8 years I had it?) and the mouse2 on one of the 310 just died last year (after about 5 years). And no problems with these $9 MS wmo's I've had for the past year.

In contrast I've owned 2 razer mice and have had problems with, yes both of them. Whatever the reasons, that does not bode well for their image or product in the eyes of a consumer. And my deepest apologies for not knowing the corporate history of a company. I couldn't tell you who the hell is or was in charge of Logitech either. All I can tell you is every time I buy one of their (or MS's or Wacom's) products, I plug it in and it works.

So, you might think razer is the cat's meow, that's fine, enjoy their products. But for me and my money razer is garbage.

Not likely. I bought a Diamondback about 1,5 years ago, in that time, first the cord broke (I shortened and soldered it back myself cause I had lost the receipt) after less than a year and about 6 months later the wheel broke. I gave up and bought an MX518 instead.

They probably do test if buttons work, all basic functions, but their quality control definitely doesn't detect squeeky scroll or buttons. And it refers even to most overpriced producs that customer would expect to be extra tested (squeeky scroll wheel mamba).

Razer mice are my fauvorite - it's like:

"Hey guys your new 10000 DPI mouse has a jitter. It's hardly usable in windows so how can you expect it to be good for gaming ?"

"Razer: Oh really ? How could that ever happen ? We are totally shocked.
We mean: it's state of the art 10000 DPI sensor, how something as advanced as this could have such elementary problems ?

It might be prudent to say that razer has pretty good support, dealt with them in the retail channel and they're pretty fucking amazing.... i.e swap overs etc

Had a retard colleague return a mamba, no packaging, 6 months old, no fault with it, the cunt that used it was huge and fat and played wow, and had fucking skin grease in every conceivable crack of this mouse, fully refunded the dude, and it was all good

beside the countless bug reports saying that it tends to jitter on almost all cloth pads (while deathadder works on all of them with no probs) i found (couldnt find a link for u ;/) some info that it has different sensor and its mounted in a different way than in deathadder

the jittering exists in 3.5g aswell i had it, even when it was fully updated. just as bad as with abyssus.

They should just slam the OLD DA sensor in all of their new shapes. Anything they brought out after that was plagued with issues.

Though even the DA had 1 silly issue, how the scroll was mounted inside of the mouse. It broke off every 4 to 6 months.

The MX518 on the other hand, you could bake that mouse, wave it around holding the cord and slam it into a brick wall and flush it down the toilet and it would still work.

Of course they check their products i have never seen a fault glowing light on any of their products.

I ve tested all of their mices n owned 3 different ones.

I can say deathadder is their only solid mouse who has superb quality and was among cheapest ones (1800dpi one, guess new one shouldnt be different except the price).

Keyboards are great (quality wise and performance) headphones got great sound (bass is one of a kind) but shit quality for that price (sometimes you get switches like toys you find in kinder surprise)...

So i guess no they just got lucky with DA :)

I guess so... I own Arctosa (same design as Lycosa) and tried Tarantula and they are both rly rly good.

Get a DA of you have low sens. It's the only mouse razer has ever made that consistently works.

salmosa works very well out of the box and you can get it for as low as 20€ new retail, so I would say salmosa is their best product to date, with the DA coming second.

lift-off is really no biggie, you can either open the micee and bend the LED away from the sensor a little, or dim the LED with some tape, both easy fool-proof hacks and the result is perfect
