well, it's about the reasoning why they crash before the actual destination. the helmets were to prevent any head injury that might have happened and caused a crash. it isn't that smart of a question.

What kind of injury would you get in a plane cockpit that wouldn't stem from crashing in the first place?

Not like an instrument would fall off (THE TOP OF THE COCKPIT) and dink you on the head knocking you out...?

There can always be minor bangs you'd want to protect your head from. Apparently they didn't have actual solid helmets anyway, the leather caps were mostly used for protection against the wind/cold, to hold communication devices, their goggles, stuff like that :)

There's not even any point speculating because we have insufficient information... the question is actually technical but we assume the solution is vulnerable to common sense, because helmets are common items. It's a category error.

Possibly to protect from incoming fire, so that they could get the job done rather than being shot before flying into the target.

After seeing Cypher - Av3k on t9 at the DH summer 2010 ... , at least on that map he's got to be the current best. That was absolutely extraordinary, one of the best played games of ql I've ever seen.

rapha made him look pretty ordinary on t9 a few months back.

t9 is the map which fits his style of play the most snugly for sure.

Not proportionate to the level of the other players now. Plus CPMA Q3 fit his style and skillset better than QuakeLive. Plus the PG really helps the likes of av3k and Cooller.

I don't think Cypher took DH seriously. (That's what I got out of the most recent Cooller interview at least.)

So maybe we'll get to see him out perform everyone else at the next LAN he attends.
