I'm fine with my aim on 60 ping, anything below that is like a bonus, but I don't take it into account. Armour and control wins games more than aim. (As long as you can get decent acc's)

true to a certain extent, yet if you're incredibly outaimed your stack will really mean nothing. granted that timing items will give you a really huuge advantage, but if you can't get those important shots it's all for nothing

i play on ~48 ping and i can tell the difference from 48 to 56 8(

well getting control of those items vs someone who completely outaims u is nearly impossible, and gl taking control off someone running the items if ur aim is shit!

Well I meant you need to have decent aim. I pretty much out aim every one in my "div", but my timing and control is pretty shoddy. Lose constantly while hitting much much more.

Yea that is a obvious factor but i mean i can controll the shit out of someone and some low pinger will destroy me in a lg battle and then i end up rage bashing my keyboard and return to picking up the powerups again :D

i ping 31 on nl and de, 15 in sweden and higher in the uk. 95% of my games are played with 31 ping and im really used to it. the hitbox is definately lagging behind the model with 31 ping and it feels like it randomly changes position, hitscan weapons registering is just a lotto tbh, sometimes rails go thru the model and sometimes you're 1000000% sure the hit landed and it didnt register, even miss jumppad shots because of it at times.

plasma and rockets are really good with 31 ping, but even better with 15 in sweden, actually i tend to aim plasma like i aimed lg in q3, since the hitbox lags behind and pg at medium range has a fast travel time, i can almost directly aim at the model and the balls land on the hitbox which lags behind the model, often times i end up with way higher effective plasma percentage than lg.

the times i have to play on uk with higher ping, everything feels like shit, movement, basicly just everything. projectile weapons feel worthless. however, i end up having like 5-10% percent higher mg and lg and land extremely weird rg shots that should never hit. with lg it feels like you are forgiven a bit for not tracking properly if you have higher ping. something is just truly fucked with either the game or my hardware/cfg/whatever.

in the end i just feel like i'd love to have my low ping projectile weapons and movement while having the advantages of this weird netcode for hitscan weapons :(

Simple, Mr 15ms will win almost everytime, even if he has only 2/3 of your skill or even less

I've lost countless duels on t9 vs half good lpb's because I have 45ms myself, plasma is incredibly hard to master and LG is totally useless in close range

There is something really weird/shitty with this netcode, in fact I think your aim depends of you opponent's ping/connexion...

I actually noticed that today, was playing with my usual 45-50ping and the person i played against had the same ping,managed to hit 35%+ lg and about 60% rail which is more or less on par,but when i play against someone with 15-30ping my % on all guns drop horribly :S

ofc, lower you ping easier its to dodge the shots...

there was a time when 25 ping felt almost like on LAN, won 30-50 matches in a row those days, first days they were setting the servers
now it says ping 20 but it surely feels like 50, I perceive the delay especially on the RL, enough to fuck up my confidence

from my limited experience with online duels, I'd say that ping up to 50-60 is not that much of an issue if you have enough practice, else it affects you a lot. I mean you might play very well on ping 25 against a guy who practiced a lot even if you did not practice, but it takes you more time to adapt to higher pings, so if you play the same guy on ping 50, for example, you get owned bigtime. adapting to higher ping is a skill on its own imo

Yea thats also true,ive seen many people that have been used to 50ping for some time and as soon as they get to lan they get owned.

So i think the whole issue of pings can somewhat be ignored but there are alot of situations where you can blame ping for the fuck ups :D

wtf? i feel its just alright, its easy to get +50% with it when opponent is trying to spawnrape you and with +50% acc you will make quite a lot dmg per sec, even with mg.

if you`ve played quake4 for a while.. you`d realize that 30-40 ping is also amazing.. after 60-70 you have to aim the guy in another range.. i dunno how to explain but.. for me its totally fine the pings:
0 to 40
50 to 70
70 to 100

after that (as i already practiced playing from south america onto some us server or euro) is always been a mental or tactical practice

I ping 20 to sweden, 45 to netherlands and germany, 65 to russia.

I have to say that 20 ping feels very good, hitscan weapons hit where you aim, as does also your rockets and plasma. With 45 ping you have already a slight handicap with rockets and plasma, which may break some of the games if they are tight... hitscan weapons still operate as with 20ping. With 65 ping however you can feel handicapped, big time. Rockets and plasma need serious prediction which appers in longer aim times and you also need to hold your shots to get them hit properly... Hitscan weapons still work fairly good, lg maybe missing like 5% of the hit shots, but nothing big...

All in all, netcode is quite good. Atleast when i am playing with 75hz tft i cant notice anything like hitboxes lagging behind models while aiming +35% lg in duels..

I like to hope that it's just my opponent in that particular match being better at dodging LG, but I find that on some servers (Ger, Fr etc) where ping fluctuates between 40 and 60 (yeah, my net is shit) I hit about 20-25% LG and on UK servers at ping 20-30 almost always 35% (maybe a little bit lower/higher).

Netcode isn't bad tbh, it's just... very inconsistent. But then I put that down to my net being so terrible (stay FAR away from plus.net)

edit: ok wow, even through going through recent game stats, I can remember which servers I've been on (usually pickup chan games so DE/NL) :p
