Got the blue too, no tracking problems with a 3.0. What mouse are you using?

Best way to clean it is to firmly rub it with a lightly moist microfiber towel. I also sometimes wash it with a mixture of dishwasher detergent and water, to completely get rid of all the oil on it.

The cause of your problem could very well be the mx518.. if I were you, I'd get the black colored instead (like #3 said it gives the most reliable tracking)

I'm not sure if the detergent is good for the Icemat though, it might leave a foil on it. A moist microfiber towel has worked great for some time for me really.

Blue gives tracking problems with some mice. Black gives the most reliable tracking.

For cleaning, just use hot water and wipe it off afterwards with a lint free cloth.

Depends which mouse you have.

What about I-2 black with deathadder, is it good?

I have a deathadder 3g and a black steelseries I-2

I think the I-2 is best suited for laser mices: DA does his job very well on this surface but loses some precision in micro-movements (I compared the I-2 to the Razer Vespula and the razer Destructor where precision is higher with the DA). It gains a lot in lift-off distance. With the I-2 the DA has a lift-off of 1 CD without any other skates other than those originally applied. (With the I-2 you can't apply any other skates under the DA or you get tracking problems)

I have also an Imperator (laser twin eye sensor as the CM Storm, Naga, Mamba) and all I can say is that with this surface the imperator gets an enormous boost in performance, precision and lift-off distance (Z-Axis tracking problem still remain).

Color makes a difference. Black is usually the most consistent of them.

Black one is pretty consistent with my lazer mouse. Dunno bout blue or anything although I was gonna get one, so thanks for the heads up
