I'm pretty sure razor keyboards aren't what they normally use either lol.
I think it's more impressive everything they are doing is useful without any random spam. I could probably move my hand around the keyboard that fast but it wouldn't be productive at all.
Professional guitarists and piano players are capable of playing 10-20 notes per second while still being musical, which (in a way) corresponds to 600-1200 APM.
And moving your arm doesn't really matter that much in regards to the strain on the wrist. (I'm a guitarist, I know.)
We do.
But we are informed about that kind of shit, back problems, tendinitis, stop if you feel any discomfort, check your position.... and I don't remember spending 10 or more hours a day playing polish death metal back when I was 15.
For whatever reason, gamers getting rsi behave like musicians whose ears buzz after a gig : like ignorant fucktards that can't think of protecting themselves beforehand and rush to see a specialized doc in order to save what can be. They just sit there in pain and one day, finally understand they're bloody morons. But hey, they don't suffer from scoliosis and they have shiny mice so life is good.
Dunno, I'm kinda used to see people complaining about a stiff neck [ that's what you get when you try to paint the walls with your hairs and sweat ] or, sometimes but it's quite rare, someone with back problems but that's usually because they didn't grow up and hold their guitar down to their knee like when they were 16.
i used to play the clarinet and my right arm is quite prone to RSI typ injuries because of that.. for some reason tho, i've never had any problems while being on the computer tho. i did feel some stress during a short period of time where i used a wmo, but swapped it for something smaller again and no stress anymore.
they're basically doing easy railshots over and over, nothing really bad if you mismicro most of the time but they have to do them at a steady accuracy and cannot miss when performing guerilla tactics.
Which is why people warm up to it. Sounds sad I know, but I doubt they'd go straight into 400 apm coming from sitting down at the PC. As would any gamer which is why you see them warming up before hand and which is why they would do actions even during startup where there's nothing to do except control probes so that they don't go from doing nothing to tons of stuff
edit: prime example, why do you think they have 100 apm at the start of a game where there's nothing to do but split probes and occasionally make a new one?
Of all the great players it sucks NaDa's APM is still monsterous and yet the guy is a million miles from the top and will basically never return to it. Burnout is a bitch.
Bisu is the best example of high APM which actually has an effect on the game amongst the modern S class IMO.
Dunno which other "pros" you're referring to but the ones which could beat Bisu during any of his prime periods aren't the ones with 100 higher APM.
Key is what I quoted. Bisu uses his high APM to make his multitasking insane so he can do that patented harass in so many places at once there's fuck all you can do unless you have equivalent APM plus happen to be insanely good at StarCraft too.
Jaedong aside the guys with the absolute highest atm aren't even top 5 individual players so it's mostly cosmestic/spamming which doesn't actually enable them to get an advantage out of it.
Also the micro was insane from both players in that clip imo.
