We've seen DDOS attacks at important events already and what did id do about them? Nothing! They cannot do more harm than good because id has stuck to that responsibility for 2 years now.

Why not? They could setup a proper dedicated LAN server for pro tournaments alone, if it wasn't for the shit pseudo LAN which needs online connectivity to a server first.

One of the major events didn't use a true LAN server iirc.

Pings were going crazy on that LAN(not id's fault..) so they logically chose to play on frankfurt servers online. Then the DDoS came.

Maybe but just maybe they prefer ql over q3? Ever considered this? I never actually played q3 active but this weekend I downloaded cpma and played some cpm22 with a friend of mine.
I fell in love with the promode movement and ofc cpm22, but there were a lot of things I disliked compared to ql. First of all the lg felt utterly shit for me and it was nothing like the ql lg. I had the standard cpma cfg and played on different servers. Every server had a range of 20-30 ms and on everyone I had the bad lg tracking.
I agree to the fact that ql needs still plenty of improvements but it ain't as bad as those retards try to claim. Instead of crashing games, pissing both players and devs off they could write an email to id and give a hint about those exploits, but hell yeah what da fuck should you expect from some complet morons?!

HAHAHAHAHA dumbest idea ever. If they think id is really going to give into their demands, they must be more retarded than I thought. The only thing this foolish rebellion is doing is pissing off the Quake Live community, and turning people off the game completely. And if nobody plays the game anymore, id is definitely not going to bother to release any new content in the future. The bottom line to the rebels is that nobody is forcing anyone to play Quake Live ... if you don't like it, go play Q3 or Q3A. There's still plenty of servers around for both those games, and there's plenty of maps and mods for it too. So STFU n00bs and GTFO.
