Humanity is a funny and tragic thing. We live on such a tiny little planet (even in relation to our own galaxy, not to mention the entire universe). People though, seem to be wholly unaware of their place, arrogant for no other reason than they are the most dominant species here. They have no idea what they're doing, aside from what their instincts tell them to do (instincts almost identical to those of a chimpanzee - and most other animals).

You'd think people would be smart enough by now, to separate themselves from the animal kingdom, by something other than simple dominance.

Inventing is better than competing. Inventions permanently improve the quality of life for the entire species. Competition is just running around in repetitive circles, refining the skill of doing practically the exact same thing over and over again. Where is the progress? How does it make anything better, except the skill of monotony? You'd think Einstein was describing competition, when he gave his definition of insanity.

I don't have the exact dimensions, but it's something like, the Earth relative to the size of the universe is about a molecule relative to the Earth. And in that molecule, an entire world of diverse life exists, complete with laws and what we call 'civilization'.
