Vo0 enjoys winning versus Uruguay by playing dirty so he LMAOs at me. I say dutchs arent good at world finals and that the team that could win versus Spain was out thanks to goals done in offside and the heavy kicking without punishment. I predict Spain winning. Dutchs roundhouse kick Spain but the referee cant steal blind Spain so they got the yellows and red they deserve, the dutch team shit on their pants when the cheat fails and cant score shit. Spain wins. I LMAO
The guy from Uruguay got punished for that though.
Ghana got a penalty from it like they should, but they wasted it. It's not like he injured someone, he sacrificed himself for the team.
He knew he would get sent off for it and in the end he did the correct choice.
I disagree, I don't think it's the correct choice. I think fair play and not resorting to cheating is the correct choice. Don't get me wrong though, I think it's perfectly understandable that he'd choose to block it with his hand, chances are that I would have done the same, but it's still not the right thing to do imo.
He didnt get away with anything though. He fouled with doing the handball, and he suffered from it.
Had Ghana scored, nobody would have said anything about it.
I cheered for Ghana in that game, so I was as bummed as most people, but really, most people would have done the same thing I think.
I know, like I said I agree that a lot of people would probably have done the same, myself included :) The punishment can't possibly match what happened though, since the card didn't really matter (except the player wasn't available for the penalties), and it's obviously possible to miss a penalty while there is no way this would not have sealed Ghana's victory without the hand.
There is zero difference between a goalie fouling a player who has broken free and is coming directly at him, or a player blocking a ball on the line with his hand. In both cases a 100% goal has been denied, and in both cases the results is a red card and penalty. Only nobody complains when a goalkeeper does something like that because it's more "accepted". There are a million scenario's where 100% goals are denied and nobody complains, and now Suarez is a cheater? Everyone would have done the same in his situation, get real.
1. I understand perfectly that most people would have done the same, I said I would probably have done it too
2. It's still breaking the rules, regardless of whether or not goals can be denied by breaking the rules differently :p
Cheating in football: External factors influencing the result of a match. First example that comes to mind: corrupt referees. The ones from Saturday and Sunday were ok tho :)
