Well the Quake Live characters aren't generally in Quake, unless you are talking about Rangers*. I suppose you could count Wrack, but I never noticed that guy anywhere. Maybe he's stealthy, like :)
There is a special reason for using Rangers* cause the one that wears brown (gross), is the original character in Quake. Unless the Aztec** one looked like Wrack. Aztecs might have had mustauches, you never know; old-school like [placeholder]8)[/placeholder] (I might actually know whether they had mustauches; course I wouldn't tell you). Wrack wears a lot of brown, too, though (gross) [placeholder]:([/placeholder]
If you want to know what character model I use, you'll have to play me, but if you're 1337 enough to play me, you'll probably see me as Tankjr or Keel, though I don't play as them :) (I play some kind of Q3, btw :))
Btw, that character in the game you posted a screenshot from that says;
My name is Crashis not Crash.
Crash is a Quake3 character. Quake3 characters don't sound anything like that. You should hear what the Quake3 Crash sounds like when you beat them :) (Don't ask me for an audio sample, play the game :))
You know there's a reason there's no speech from the characters in Quake III Arena:
They tried that in Team Arena and it was annoying as shit in the demo; no wonder no Quake3 players¤ bought Team Arena (that wasn't the only reason, but it was a pretty fucking good one.). Anyway, the speech in Quake Live goes way further than how bad the Team Arena speech is, it takes shit voice acting to a whole new level. The Quake3 announcer isn't even in Quake Live (but then, you didn't ask about the Quake3 announcer).
I say;
the Quake3 announcer is too good for Quake Live.
*I know "Rangers" may be very funny for some players (it is for me), but you have to read further to understand :)
**Quake was originally going to be an Aztec-styled game, until they decided to make it look like; several gothics had exploded due to bowel problems - in every level except the first few "military space base" levels. The Aztec-styled textures they had made were later reused in some official Quake2 multiplayer maps (you might call the maps "levels").
¤When I say "Quake3 players" I mean Quakers; people who play Quake3 seriously, like chess players play chess seriously, know what I mean :)
N.B.
"[placeholder]" indicates where I am going to put similies later, bear with me (don't take the "bear" comment literally, it's an English phrase).
Edit: It turns out there's no way to add more than one image to a post on here, so no way to add smilies. What a desolate place this is.
