Tox cfg looks terrible :O Seems like something he just threw together to be able to play the cup etc :) Fullbright , 16bit color (dosent work at all in ql,was fine in q3 tho) etc etc.If he starts to play serious again im sure we will see a better one :)

I think that the only thing most people wanted to know was his sensitivity settings, which clocks in at 27.3cm/360, no accel, according to injx's formula.

You can't know cm/360 from config only, without knowing windows/driver settings.

How do you use some of these configs? For example - Cyphers, it has a bunch of cmd lines with allsorts of settings that don't seem to take effect when I exec it.
Also, whats that group of cmd lines for that's present in Raphas, Cyphers, Dahangs plus others with the cg_crosshairsize 19 throughout? :o

Most, if not all, of those weird cmds and scripts are probably holdovers from when they first imported their cpma/osp configs to qlive.

No. Just check a couple other cfgs, a lot of the guys have the exact same stuff lying inside, unbound. Usually from Fojji's cfg [ I guess he was the first one to do a clean cfg ]

And the game with ani is just -.- i had fucking huge freezelags and was just standing on long range with rail. If we would play a rematch i would beat him and RAPE him if we played on FY 1v1.

I havent played a real pro since 2008 when i was a complete noob, But i have played alot of good players who used to have close games with pros and i have beaten them and had really close games.

My best map is Fragging yard 1v1, But i play all other international tournament maps aswell.

I started with q4 in 2008, But i have played some q2 on lan back in 98-99.

Im pretty sure that i could compete with them, I already have the dueling knowledge i just gotta learn the QL physics and maps and stuff like that. I dont know how long it would take me to learn those things kinda depends on how much i can bother to play (i dont enjoy the game)

It's weird that in quake 3, everyone(euro) was using:

Cypher/av3k are running 90 fov, or were before cooller switched to 95 then in the recent configs for cypher and av3k they have 95 now.

off topic, but why do you only track aimers? Any particular reason?

Because other players like Rapha/cooller/av3k are combo aimers. They use the best gun for the situation and not try to be flashy or push the aim vs aim fights (rail battles, lg fights) they just try to get the kill as quickly and efficiently as possible.

However most of the time this is because they can't out aim their opponents straight up, like z4muz or toxjq. So they have to change up their rhythm and weapons to fuck up others.

Aiming too good can actually backfire, if you are dependent on it to solely get the frags (strenx). You should use your aim to the best of its ability, while never actually abusing it and try to get clean frags with combinations (cypher)

People that should take more advantage of their aim is a person like Stermy, he tries to use combos for his advantage but its not happening, he needs to aim whore sometimes (check t7 vs fazz at the end of game at Dreamhack)

Rapha with toxjq aim however will be unstoppable, because I believe Rapha will keep his old strategy and just incorporate the aim into his game, instead of changing his strategy around to fit his aim. (strenx/l1nkje/fazz/k1llsen)

don't you think cooller, rapha, av3k wouldn't want to squeeze the last percent of aim out of their ass with some tweaks?

Not necessarily. Of course they need aim, but they are playing duel where rockets is pretty much the most needed gun and if you have good rockets you can overcome all other weapons.

For duel, the skill set is centered around movement, awareness and reaction.

You need a config where you will be very comfortable to 'feel' the enemies weapons and dodge them, and also be able to move around as precise as needed.

For Rapha his main play is rocket juggling and positional spam, he follows this up with some LG and a few rails if needed, he isn't playing TDM where he needs monster hitscan to keep his stack and defend areas over long periods of time. This is his duel game, his movement has never looked bad in any situation, never bumping into walls, almost never fucking up rocketjumps or whatever. It's just precise.

Cooller plays the same way as rapha, but uses more LG to feel out his opponents health, but again, he is a rocket heavy player (for good reason, rockets own)

Av3k and Cypher are movement whores, they love to move around the map at light speed and they have very precise movements for dodging and close fighting. Cypher seems to have more aim than av3k, but av3k just knows when to use the right gun to come out on top when these two play each other.

I would say Cypher is the best aim player, he has monster LG and rail but doesn't abuse them (i.e. keep trying to hit flashy rails even when an easy rocket will kill them or try to out lg a stacked player)

Don't get me wrong though, you had tremendous aim in q3osp along side gopher and mikes, but.. now i don't know, your play style is very fresh, but its all or nothing type gambles which is fun to spec and probably play, but not consistent enough to play duel with the top 3. IMO

I had never run into this before but for some reason the monitors they were using at Eswc made the models alot smaller than normal at a distance with fov 110, to the point where I was struggling to hit anything. Was very peculiar, had never seen a monitor react like that so I dropped my fov so I could be able to aim at a distance.

And I did not read any shit on the interwebz or downloaded a top player's config. I just tweaked my config and I came up with 103 fov someone...

So yeah, maybe there's something with 103 <3.

i did the same thing going between 100 and 105. I felt most accurate with 100 and my movement were better with 105-110.
So 103 came and i'm happy with it, even if i'm a noob :P

after amphi vs nVc i changed to 103 cos recommended for better shaft aim. nothing to do with anything. c: yes, i swapped fov to QL based on an amphi cpm game. If you see any flaw in this logic, plz die in ass

As pertains to Keel, I'm pretty sure that the reason for using Keel is that the id guys said it was the best fit model to the hit box.

As for the 103 fov, I think someone probably read something somewhere and decided to trust teh internets.

lol tox only uses fov 103 cos stermy is using it and they practice together and stermys using 103 cos a long time a go he had heard a bullshit story about fov 103 beeing optimal

tox lowered his sens to 3.8 which is in my opinion a bad decision but hes struggling to get his aim back i think with higher fov

Terifire remembers Toxjq using sens 3 back in the q4 days.. And the game is slightly faster thqn vq3 [ and the slightly extended fov becomes handy when 50% of your rockets pop your oppenent midair drunk cpm style ]

no, i have no idea. maybe someone from the cpma dev team remembers, other than that it may have caught on when people like stermy and zamuz aimed so well with fov 103.

I don't remember it being "102 is the best" but rather something along the lines of being 102 was like the highest without looking shit + the lowest without overly restricting your view.

I did that same shit for quake3. I had like 200 configs and chose the best of the best aim whores and then made my config the 'average' or most selected option of all of them.

It actually worked well, but I like being individual, so my quakelive config is weird as shit but still works.

Yep,weird right ;) But when tox and his brother gopher started to play they didnt have anyone to copy binds from etc so they got used to this :) Nowdays edsf and mouse1 2 for jump/shoot is standard but on their time there wasnt much of a standard :P We played on LAN with the old ice-climbers abit in the beginning because my friend was tox and gophers cousin :) At that time Gopher was a monster in tdm :D He is top3 on my list of best tdmers of all time :D I got abit of topic but im drunk ,its OK :P

Well, I would think he'd still has some icemats hidden somewhere or he could at least have asked one to Fox cause he HAS to have stacked some in his mother's basement or somewhere when they were discontinued since he was still playing.

Steelseries sell icemats and iirc Tox used a blue Steelseries I-2 for a fair while. There's no difference betweeen the icemat and the experience I-2 that Steelseries make

btw about toxjq, he doesnt use wmo anymore ;o
i recently asked for his cfg aswell(2 weeks ago or so), here if someone needs: http://ul.to/oph072
u can see there sens 1 + yaw 0.018
after that i asked him wtf is that and he said he's using razer 1800dpi mouse and not wmo anymore, neither icemat.
i didnt ask what exactly since he disconnected from irc afterwards

No wonder he's so bad now. I was watching him in the zotac cup the other day and I was lolling at how bad his aim is.

well i guess that was when he still had wmo though(before august)

You might want to remove the tools I have in my .rar file. They take up about 9MB out of the 10MB ;)
