i dont think fatal1ty can get anywhere close to the quake players. all he does for a living now is play some utterly dire game and beat newbs at it then switches to another crappy game :x

When fatality started quake3, most (nearly all) of his major opponents came from either quake1 or quake2. And had way more experience playing on lan and/or high pressure games. Obviously quake3 was a new(ish) game, but that sort of experience is extremely important. Yet he still beat them all.

Depends how you practice. Tbh we all know Idra as a macro player and I'd go so far as to say that's all he practices. There's the ol' saying: Practice what you don't know, not what you're good at

All he does is practice, though. He still loses to non-pro koreans.

fatality isnt idra though, also the top fps players arent condensed into one country where 15 year olds get a huge lead to anyone by practicing 9-10 hours a day.

Fatality could probably get back in the game if he bootcamped with just rapha alone.

CZM is awesome. He's nearly as good as cooller in terms of strategy and can out aim him, so that's why they had close games.

Rapha would still beat czm down like a dog, just like he does to cooller.

The only one that is left for Rapha to shit on is toxjq. Rapha has not encountered aim like his that is followed up with a solid brain game.

That will be the final test for rapha, to become a quake legend.

(zero4 already said rapha is better than him, even cooller said that too)

I hope toxjq gets his map awareness, timing and strategy up to par though. From watching this weekend's cup he looked pretty average in these aspects.

Nice, but I thought that rapha occasionally tried to say or add something, but he couldn't. Him and 2GD kept trying to talk simultaneously, sort of, and 2GD was usually the winner. It must be hard to conduct an interview without seeing each other =)

I think it's really hard with the lag, but maybe 2gd could have allowed for this and left some slightly longer pauses to give rapha more of a chance. Pretty interesting though, anyway.
